Most amazing place
I have heard of the Cocora Valley in Colombia. It is a stunning location near the small town of Salento, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and towering palm trees. The valley is also famous for its delicious coffee, making it a popular destination for travelers seeking a unique and authentic Colombian experience.
Salento, beautiful town in Colombia
Salento is absolute beauty, colourful streets, a lot of cool restaurants and amazing food
Fairy tale town Salento
Name of place 🔖: Salento, Colombia 🇨🇴
Access🚗: It’s between capital Bogota (6 hours car) and Medellín (5.5 hours car), but absolutely worth it
What’s special✨: the town is very quiet and the vibe is relaxing, even the air seems to be fresher (and often blended with the aroma of nicely brewed coffee).
The houses are colourful but all of sightly different pattern. It is almost impossible to find identical houses.

Finca El Ocaso Salento Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The colourful town Finca
City: Salento, Colombia 🇨🇴
Where is it: north west of Bogota the capital, in the north of South America
What’s special ✨: Finca means farm/local village. There are many local fincas in Colombia and this one in Salento is famous for its colourful buildings, its coffee farms and tranquility in the area. Shops close pretty early (it’s not a busy area and hence the quietness). Also if you like plants you can spot a lot here!

FROM BEAN TO CUP ☕️.⠀
⠀
Did you know that an average worker in a coffee farm can pick up to 100kg of ripe coffee cherries PER DAY?!⠀
⠀
This is the staggering amount we learned is normally collected by individual pickers (by hand!) during the two picking seasons the Ocasa Coffee Plantation sees every year. We spent an afternoon exploring the sights, sounds and smells of the Ocasa Coffee Plantation to learn all about how our favourite cup o’ Joe is made. From planting the seed, to picking the ripe cherries and sorting the beans, we learned heaps about the process and admire the work that goes into producing coffee beans so much more!⠀

Filandia, town of handicrafts
Name of place🔖: Filandia, Colombia 🇨🇴
What’s special ✨: this quiet town outside of the capital of Colombia is just another town famous for its colourful houses and decorations, handicrafts shops with beautiful hand-woven bags, hand-made jewellery, hand-painted art pieces etc. Now that when stocks and real estate and even cash are not good forms of assets to have, investing in art work could potentially bring you much better return, not to mention they are definitely delightful additions to one’s home that would brighten up your day!

Hotel Salento Real Eje Cafetero Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
A small coffee town hidden in the mountains - Salento, Colombia
Salento is a leisurely and peaceful mountain town in the Colombian coffee area.
There is only one main street full of handicraft shops. The architecture of Salento is different from other towns, and the frame and window frames are colorful and extremely romantic.
This mountain town is quite a Peugeot. The checkerboard-style streets are full of old-fashioned houses, churches and plazas, and they live in harmony with the surrounding lush forests.
Find a coffee house, have a drink, the coffee here is one of the best in Colombia.
Walk for more than an hour to the coffee farm, the whole process of growing coffee to brewing coffee. There is a coffee tour in the local area. From the cultivation of coffee beans, you can learn about coffee beans baking and grinding.
In addition to using hazelnuts and coffee, the Columbia Mountains use this American Willys Jeep to deliver coffee on the rugged mountain road!
Just in the town, at the party, participate in the jeep willys show. The performers used a variety of difficult forms to manipulate willys, causing warm applause from the scene.
After a Willys jeep ride from Salento to the Kokkola Valley for a mountain hike. Take a hike in the Palm Forest Sanctuary to learn about palm trees and local coffee culture.
Occasionally meet local mountain people riding horses, they will always take the initiative to tell you good days.
Hummer is still a vehicle used by locals. It is usually a scorpion to transport coffee. The heroic mountain people wear cowboy-like sombrero, a style that is not in a hurry, and completes all kinds of trivial things with their own favorite speed, just like the feeling of this emerging South American country.
One side of the water and soil to raise one person, at this time Colombian water and soil raising this generation of coffee people, may soon be creating a new coffee kingdom.
Hacienda Bambusa Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Bambusa Hacienda
The most wonderful place to stay! I wish we could have spent more time there. Honestly, they make you feel like you are at home, as if you are part of one big family. It's probably the best customer service I've ever received for a long time. And the staff there are always making sure you are okay, and we will see to it.
Besides the amazing customer service, the hotel itself is so beautiful that it's no wonder Encanto was inspired by it. It has a rustic elegance surrounded by beautiful scenery and nature. Every morning you will hear the most beautiful songs of birds and see some of the most beautiful birds in Colombia, honestly, my family and I fell in love with it!
Want to check out the beautiful scenery and hotel, and the food? Amazing! Breakfast was always fresh and very tasty, and the homemade chocolate for hot chocolate was really delicious! Their menu is very diverse, not excluding amazing vegetarian or vegan options! My sister ordered a vegetarian meal and fell in love with it! Everything we asked for was really without any mistakes!
