Iran Trip
On April 26, 2023 at 11:00 Iran time, the "Expert-led Exploration of the Wonders of the Persian Empire in Iran" team arrived at their first stop, Persepolis, after a two-hour drive from Shiraz this morning. Yu Su introduced that this was the second capital of the Persian Achaemenid dynasty, located in a basin in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. It was built during the reign of Darius the Great (ruled from 522 BC to 486 BC), and its ruins were discovered near Takht-e Jamshid, 52 kilometers northeast of Shiraz. The city is situated to the east of a mountain and is surrounded by walls on the other three sides. The main remains include the audience hall of King Darius and the Hundred Column Palace.
The pink lake of Iran or mars?
Maharloo Lake is located in the highland of Shiraz, Iran. It is dark pink in colour due to the red tides underneath, hence lovingly called the Pink Lake.
It is a seasonal salt lake with the size approx 25000 hectres. Undoubtedly the most amazing and strangest sight I have ever seen and honestly ,it made me nervous.
We took a flight with Paramotor that made it possible for us to the the lake from high above.
Drive or hire a taxi to get there as it is not accessible to public transportation. Get the taxi to wait up whilst you do the touristy stuff and selfies. There is no other activity than taking pictures, walk on salt, paragliding, picnic and a little hike along the lake.
There were flamingos! A lot of them too.
I can't fully describe how i feel about this place, yes it was pretty, 100%..but it was also so very strange. Almost feel like you are in some sci-fi film.
It reminded me of Vormir (avengers, where the soul stone was (found). It is insanely beautiful and scary at the same time.
No restaurants of here just enjoy the beautiful lake, hold some salt and take lots of pictures! This is nature showing off.

Persepolis, Iran's greatest monument, world cultural heritage, is the fifth capital city ordered to commemorate the kings of the Achaemenid kingdom after the reign of the Persian Empire Darius I. It is the ancient civilization of Central Asia. Unique proof. Later, Alexander attacked Persepolis, ransacked it, and put a big fire, the magnificent stone city became today's pile of debris.
72 The top of the top stone column still has 13 remaining, standing proudly on the wasteland, witnessing the glory of the ancient Persian empire, the sun sets, the wind of the wilderness is wrapped in the history, and it is dazzling.
