Bar area’s sleek, but the restaurant side feels way cozier. House beers are solid, schnitzel’s up there with proper German places.

Huge portions and the food was solid, though a bit pricey for what it is. Loved sitting outside by the river though, perfect for a chill catch-up with friends 🌊

Tiny menu, but honestly everything we ordered hit the mark. That mascarpone and berry dessert though — yeah, that one’s staying in my memory. Place was quiet too, not dead, just calm. Kitchen still running late, which is rare around here. Wouldn’t mind going back just for that dessert again.

Food’s decent, pretty authentic flavors, and the portions are generous. But the bill adds up quicker than you’d expect. I had a glass of their house red with the main course, and it did the job. Place has a nice buzz to it, though. Just don’t come here if you’re watching your wallet.

The mixed antipasti platter was a solid start—nothing crazy, just good stuff. But the pasta from the Parmesan wheel? That’s the real deal. Watching them toss it right there in front of you, all creamy and rich. The old half-timbered building gives the place a nice vibe too. Kind of wish the portions were a bit bigger, but I left satisfied.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Got the samosas and naan. Pretty solid North Indian food, tasted fresh and the spices were on point. Place was busy but food came out fast enough. Not the cheapest, but for the flavor, it works. I'd grab a bite here again if I'm in the area.

Really good menu, you can choose from the tasting menu and the a la carte. Excellent wine list. I recommend booking as the restaurant is in demand.

The pizzas are proper size and the thin crust was done well. Had the margherita, pretty solid choice for a casual dinner in Essen. Place was busy but we got a table fine. Service decent, nothing to complain about. Would come back if I'm in the area.

The salmon bowl (#41) was really good, that sauce made it. Place gets busy though, so book ahead. Cash only, which caught me off guard.

Came here a few times now. Second floor has a nice vibe, food's always solid. Only thing that bugs me is the men's room door—been broken for months. Kinda sloppy for a place that gets this busy. Still, I'll be back, just wish they'd fix that.

Nice spot for a quiet dinner. Burger was decent, nothing crazy but solid. Service friendly, place felt relaxed.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Bibimbap was solid, pork bulgogi had good flavor. Portion size was decent for the price. Service was friendly, no complaints there. Place gets busy around noon, so you might wait a bit for a table. Fine if you're in the area and want Korean without the fuss.

Been coming here for a while now. Pho broth is still herby and deep, portion's big enough to fill me up. Beef could be a bit rarer, but that's a small thing.

Decent burger spot. The kimchi on top gave it a nice kick, and the owner was around checking on things. Service was attentive, though it got a bit loud later in the evening.

The beef pho here is really good. Broth is deep, noodles have that proper bite. Place itself is pretty bare-bones, nothing fancy, but it works. Service was fast, maybe too fast, felt a little rushed. Still, for a quick bowl, it hits the spot.

Tiny place, chalkboard menu. Had the truffle spaghetti and seafood platter — both solid. Service was quick, friendly enough. Just make sure you book ahead, it's packed.

Lukas offers a unique dining experience with its charming ambiance and excellent service. The outdoor seating is lovely, especially on a nice day, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

The all-you-can-eat sushi deal is solid, though starter portions run small. Fish tasted fresh.

The old industrial hall setting is really cool. Chicken was solid, and that little Bonifatius salad on the side surprised me. Staff let us eat in peace.

The meze spread was the highlight—lots of variety, all fresh. Grilled lamb came out juicy, properly charred. Place was busy but service kept up fine.

The nasi goreng had that proper smoky wok hei, which I honestly didn't expect. Rendang was tender and the portion felt generous for the price. Only thing—the seating is a bit cramped, those wooden stools get uncomfortable after a while. But the food itself was solid, home-cooked style. I'd go back for takeaway maybe.

The garden out front is really pretty, tucked under the trees. We just stopped by to ask about something, and the staff still let us use the restroom, which was nice of them. Didn't eat this time, but the place felt welcoming. Would like to come back and actually try the food.

Came here for the all-you-can-eat deal. Food comes out in waves, so it's always fresh, not sitting around. Sushi was the highlight for me. Plenty of variety to keep things interesting. Just wish they'd pace the courses a bit better, had a short wait between rounds. Still, solid spot for sushi.

The grilled fish was perfectly cooked, flaky and juicy. Loved the fresh herbs on top. Service was attentive but not hovering. Prices felt fair for the quality. Place got a bit loud later in the evening, but that's on us for coming at peak time. Would sit outside next time.

Stopped by for dinner and ordered the grilled sea bass. Portion was decent, fish cooked well, but honestly for the price I expected a bit more on the plate. The lamb looked good on the next table though. Service was friendly enough, no complaints there. Just felt the bill was slightly heavy for what you get. Maybe I'd come back for lunch if they have a cheaper set.

The Black Forest mushroom special was decent but honestly a bit pricey for what you got. Portion could've been bigger. Staff were friendly though.

The mixed grill for two was the highlight—meat cooked properly, seasoned well. Even got a little tableside show with it, which I didn’t expect.

The 200g cheeseburger here is solid. Organic meat comes through in the taste. Probably one of the better ones in Essen.
