Lovely food, but it's the little play area out back that really made it for us. The kids were so content, we could actually relax and enjoy our meal. A rare treat for a family dinner out.

They’ve just done the place up and it looks so much brighter now, but it still feels cosy. The team here are really lovely and everything came out quickly.

Service was efficient on a busy Saturday. Staff were friendly and checked in without being intrusive.

Christine was our server and she was just lovely. So polite and helpful the whole time. It really made the evening feel relaxed and easy for our group. A nice touch!

The team here is really on it, even when it's packed. They took my gluten thing seriously, checked everything without making a fuss. Made the whole thing stress-free.

Been here a few times for a quick lunch. The portion size for the fish and chips is generous, easily enough for two. The view is a nice bonus, but honestly, you're paying for the food, not the scenery. Good spot when you're hungry.

The fish and chips are the reason I come. A huge, flaky fillet with that light, crispy batter you want. Chips are proper thick-cut. It's just a classic done right.

The rotating beer list is the main draw here. They focus on independent breweries, so you'll always find something new on tap. Had a really solid pale ale last time, crisp with a nice hop finish. A good spot if you're just after a quiet, uncomplicated pint.

The fish and chips were spot on! Honestly some of the best I've had. The vibe was just right for catching up with friends, not too loud so we could actually hear each other. The chips were perfectly crispy. A solid choice for a casual night out.

Love the beer garden here, it's such a nice spot. Ordered one of their hand-made pizzas, and it was really good. They've got vegan choices as well, which is a plus. My only thing is, for the portion size, the price felt a bit on the higher side.

Been coming here for years, always solid. The crab chowder's the one to get - proper flavour, not too thick. Had it last week, still hits the spot. Coffee's decent too.

A proper local pub. Mark and his mum are lovely, really make you feel at home. The new air con is a godsend on a warm day, and the garden out back is a nice spot. Just what you need.

The on-site parking is a lifesaver in York. It's so rare to find a spot that's both quiet and convenient. Made popping in for a midweek lunch completely stress-free.

We were quoted an hour wait on a busy evening, but our table was ready in about 45 minutes. The staff were really friendly and kept us updated, which was appreciated.

Dog-friendly pub, which is a big plus for me. The whole place is spotless, even the loos. My spaniel was very happy with the water bowl they brought out.

The vegan pizza and garlic bread were really good for a regular pub. Comfy booths made it a nice, easy meal.

Came for the performance night. The set menu was decent, but honestly the portions felt a bit small for the price. Good entertainment though, really got everyone involved.

Their French toast is the one. Thick cut brioche, soaked through but still holds its shape. The custard isn't too sweet, just rich. Gets that perfect crisp on the griddle. My benchmark now.

Solid spot for a drink. The real ales are well-kept, which is nice. The staff behind the bar were happy and helpful, just a good vibe all round.

The Timothy Taylor and Rudgate beers were spot on. Really enjoyed them on a busy Friday night. Great selection of drinks here.

Really enjoyed the cosy, underground vibe here. The brick arches and soft lighting make it a relaxing spot. Service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant, hassle-free evening.

Busy pub, but we got a table. My cider was crisp and fresh, which I really appreciate. The Moretti my friend had looked good too. Prices felt fair for what you get.

The service here is genuinely good. Staff are quick and attentive even when the place is packed. They actually seem to enjoy their job, which is nice.

Love that this place has three separate rooms! Makes it so much easier to find a cosy corner for a catch-up with mates. The dog-friendly bit is a nice touch too, means no one has to leave their pup at home. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon pint 🍻

Love the vibe here for a catch-up with mates. The cocktails are spot on - not too sweet, which is a win. We tried a couple of their signatures and they were all really well balanced. Good spot for a relaxed evening out.

Stayed here on a whim. Rooms are spotless and full of character. Andrew and Lucinda are genuinely lovely hosts. The food, both in the restaurant and at breakfast, was really solid every single time. A good spot.

The tapas are perfect for sharing. I loved the vibe here, especially the soft lighting and the gentle hum of conversation. It just felt so cosy and relaxed. The cocktails were a nice touch too.

A bit tucked away up the stairs, which was nice for a quiet pint. They've got a good range of beers on tap. The 2/3 pint measure is a nice option. My dog was welcome, which is a plus.

Just popped in for a Guinness after work. The new decor is nice, feels cozy. Pint was spot on. Good place to just sit for a bit as it gets dark outside.

Great spot for a catch-up! They had a really good selection of drinks, including some proper ales. Perfect for a chilled pint with friends.
