一處宗教古蹟，香火頂盛是附近的信仰中心，主神侍奉妈祖。目前正在维修，不影响参拜，周围美食好多，吃的好饱还有好多小吃没吃，台中必拜访景点之一。

镇澜宫为大甲镇赫赫有名的老庙宇，是大甲地方的信仰中心，也是全台湾妈祖信仰的中心之一。镇澜宫建庙已有200多年历史，因信徒众多、香火旺盛，庙体一再整修重建，呈现出今昔交错、华丽与古朴杂揉的瑰丽面貌。每年农历3月，镇澜宫的妈祖必到嘉义新港奉天宫进香，各地信徒不分男女组成声势浩大的进香团，进行为期8天7夜的徒步参拜，这也就是著名的“大甲妈祖绕境进香”，是台湾乃至全世界最大规模的宗教活动之一。
