Walking along the cool forest is a pleasant thing in summer. But if you take a very young child (early childhood), it may not be very good, because after a period of time, they will feel very tired. If this is the case, take the bus. Older children will find it interesting. We saw a very lovely raccoon on the way. The view from the cottage is wonderful, although Montreal is a city that doesn't look very beautiful! There are plenty of grey concrete. There was no cafe in the cottage, so it was shameful that there were only vending machines and souvenir shops. Obviously, they are offering coffee and food in Les Amis de la Montagne and it takes 10 minutes'walk from the cottage to get there, but we didn't go. There is an outdoor piano on the huge terrace. The atmosphere is very good, and you can breathe the fresh air in the mountains! Because we were a little late that day, we didn't go to the pavilion and Beaver Lake.
