Glacier No. 1 "China No. 1 Glacier is located on the north side of Tianger Peak (4476 meters above sea level) watershed, the main peak of Karawucheng Mountain in Nanshan area, 127 kilometers away from Urumqi and the nearest glacier in the world to the city. The glacier was formed in the Second Glacier Period and has a history of 4 million years. It is shaped as a double ice bucket with a length of 200 meters, an area of 1.74 square kilometers and an elevation of 3730 meters at the end of the tongue. The glacier melting season lasts from mid-May to early November every year, and it still moves in the shape of "s" at a speed of 5 meters per year.
