Plaza de España (Piazza di Spagna) is a square in the center of Rome, Italy. The climb up from Plaza de España is a 135-step giant Spanish ladder (Spanish Steps). The top of the ladder is Trinitàdei Monti Square. The ladder was built in 1723 – and was bequeathed by French diplomats Yuan tienneGueffier in 1725. It connects the Church of Trinità dei Monti, the King of Bourbon in France and the Spanish Embassy of Bourbon in Spain.
