My children both age 8 and 10 enjoyed their stay. They liked that there is bathtub in the room. They specially liked that they can still swim when it was raining the whole day.
Though room is dated in design; it offers comfort. The pillows have beads in them, very nice to sleep on. King bed is big, can sleep a family of 4.
They also have a beautiful garden, too bad it rained and floor was wet so we missed entering for a walk. Could spot the goose walking about.
The staff is attentive and polite. I had some issue with my parcel delivery. They took the effort and time to help me locate it.
The room was spacious with a small table and two chairs, makes it easier for us to eat when we ordered take out.
The takeout could be placed in the pigeon holes at the entrance of hotel, and you can collect it from there.
Mac Donald’s, Lawson mart, a bakery. And also a halal restaurant 紫光园 are within 3-5 mins walking distance.
The restaurant has diff menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Food is good (we like the lunch/dinner better)
Walk to mrt will take some navigating. Exit B is the closest to the hotel. It is convenient to reach places in line 1 metro, whereby the various main attractions are situated.

Grand Hyatt Beijing in Dongcheng is an excellent choice for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience.
Its prime location near two metro stations and within walking distance to Wangfujing makes it easy to explore the city. The views from the rooms are appealing, offering glimpses of the bustling main street, though some traffic noise can be heard. A highlight of the hotel is the impressive swimming pool, which boasts excellent facilities, making it a must-visit.
The rooms are clean and feature soft, comfortable bedding, even if they show a bit of age. Breakfast options are decent, providing a wide range of food, although the menu could benefit from more frequent updates.
While WiFi access is limited by China's Great Firewall, preventing some websites from being accessed, the overall experience at Grand Hyatt Beijing is highly enjoyable, making it a great option for visitors to the city.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Regent in Beijing. The staff were generous with their patience and smiles, and the concierges were knowledgeable and helpful.
The breakfast is a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for - excellent quality and variety of food. On one day we headed out very early to see the Great Wall and since breakfast would not be open yet, the Regent kindly packed us all little picnic bags to eat en route.
If you are a small family with two children I highly recommend the Family Suite. It was so enjoyable to spend a day touring Beijing and then return for rest and recharging at The Regent Beijing.

The service provided by Concierge Jason was excellent and efficient. Front Desk staff member Rita was exceptionally friendly and understanding. Additionally, the male staff member with black glasses who works in the Lobby Restaurant was very professional. Their outstanding service is truly appreciated, and I believe they all deserve recognition or perhaps even a raise.
While I did have a minor encounter with a couple of Lobby Restaurant staff members whose service was less satisfactory, I have already shared my concerns directly with the management team. Overall, my experience was very positive thanks to the efforts of the other outstanding team members.

We recently stayed for 3 days at this hotel as a family with an infant and while the overall stay was pleasant, I feel compelled to share some important points that made our experience fall short of what we expected from a five-star establishment.
To begin with, we had booked a Premier Suite, anticipating a top-tier experience. Unfortunately, several issues left us feeling like we were staying in a three-star hotel at best.
* Cleanliness was disappointing — the floors were visibly dirty, and when we wiped them with a white towel, it turned dark. Photos attached clearly show the level of cleanliness we encountered.
* The room showed noticeable wear and tear, with interior elements feeling aged and in need of refurbishment. Some parts felt like they hadn’t been updated in decades.
* On our last night, the bathroom light could not be turned off, which made it very difficult to sleep. With our baby already asleep, we couldn’t call anyone to fix it without disturbing her.
* The spinning chair in the room looked stylish but made loud, unpleasant noises, making it impossible to sit and relax in peace.
* Several power sockets (about four) were not working, which was frustrating — especially when we tried to make tea or charge devices. We had to use inconveniently placed sockets instead.
* A lingering smell of cigarette smoke was present in the room throughout our stay, suggesting the furniture and fabrics have absorbed it over time.
* The female sauna was completely non-functional, which was a disappointment.
* We consistently pressed the ”Do Not Disturb” button, hoping for privacy, but every time we left the room, it was cleaned despite our request. While it's nice that the room was cleaned, our preference should have been respected.
* We also attempted to order food by phone twice, and our orders were never received. Whether this was due to a language barrier or other reasons remains unclear — but it was frustrating nonetheless.
Considering that Sofitel is a well-established and globally recognized luxury hotel brand, you would never expect to come across such issues. All of the above certainly will influence our families and our friends future decisions when choosing Sofitel hotels .
I want to stress that the stay overall wasn’t terrible — we enjoyed our time together as a family and had some positive moments. However, the above issues significantly detracted from what should have been a premium five-star experience. For the price and rating, we expected more attention to detail and basic functionality.

Hotel is located conveniently near to Chaoyangmen Station Exit E. However the hotel has 3-4 different blocks, and the restaurant for breakfast dining is located in another block, and there is no sheltered walkways to cross over. The dining area is also ill-equipped to deal with the crowd size in the early morning for breakfast buffet, which requires queuing up and diners may feel rushed when dining in. Cleanliness is good enough. Service from receptionist and staff were also good. Facilities are okay, the corridor to the hotel room is poorly lit, and the room size is smaller than expected. There is no luggage rack to put my luggage except on the small stool or on the bed. There is also no fridge and the room temperature is fixed - the thermostat shows 20 celsius but it feels like 25 to 26 celsius instead. Had to open the windows to cool the room temperature. Overall, reasonably pleasant experience if looking from a location and service perspective.

The hotel is located at a convenient location near a few shopping malls and the subway. It is very convenient. The rooms are clean and big with alot of space. However the room furniture, showers and other amenities are a bit dated. For example, we have problem closing the sliding shower door as there is a lot of friction and there is a bit gap even after closing the door. From the room itself, you can see the bathroom. If you are staying with your spouse, it should be ok. But if you are with friends, it can be awkward. At the main lobby reception, there are no seats or sofa during checkin. I find it very incovenient as after a long flight and travelling from the airport to the hotel, our family member have to stand at the lobby and wait for the room keys.

The hotel is super located in the city center. Very clean, friendly and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and everyone speaks English and is very supportive. The Chi Spa is amazing, a wonderful opportunity to treat yourself. The breakfast at Grill 79 is healthy and various. Only few floors away is the Athmospere bar, where you can enjoy unique coctailes and live music.

This stay experience was simply amazing! I must give high praise to Linda from the Front Office Department and Alice from the Housekeeping Department! From the moment we stepped into the hotel, Linda greeted us with great enthusiasm. When handling the check-in procedures, she patiently answered all kinds of our questions and thoughtfully reminded us of the travel guides around the hotel, which made us, who were new to the place, feel very reassured.
After checking in, Alice from the Housekeeping Department also gave us a lot of surprises. The room was warmly decorated and tidy. She even folded towels into small animals for the children. Knowing that I am a light sleeper, she took the initiative to coordinate and changed us to a quieter room type. Whenever we had any needs later, both of them responded quickly and actively solved the problems.
The professional and heartwarming services of these two ladies made our whole journey full of happiness. I give them a big thumbs-up! There are also Rocky and Zhao Xiaocui from the Housekeeping Department. Their professionalism and dedication are really admirable. Additionally, I would like to mention Guo Siying and Xing Ziqi who contacted me later regarding the package I left in the hotel. I give a thumbs-up for your attentive services. You truly live up to the reputation of being the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Great service! They set up a surprised cake, flowers and balloon in room for my birthday, very touched. All staff are very attentive, breakfast is nice too.
Only short coming is the overhead lamp is in an awkward position, table blocked the way to get to sofa, moved it and hit the head on the lamp. The lamp fitting may be wrong too… the angular part should be inside instead of facing out. Not being fussy but well, it’s a design hotel, this shouldn’t happen.

YYen QiThe hotel is in CBD and there’s a metro station right next to it. Suggest to improve/ change menu for breakfast. I stayed for 3 nights and breakfast menu remains unchanged. Had the same food serve for the entire 3-day stay. But overall is good.
TTMM76Had an amazing experience staying at Wanda Vista Hotel. Great amenities and room was very clean. Huge shoutout to Yoyo, our receptionist, that provided us with amazing service and hospitality. Would definitely return when I visit Beijing again.
GGuest UserWe were disappointed with the Intercontinental Hotel or we should say we have higher expectations for an international 5-star hotel. Check in was very disappointing. Our check in time was 3 pm. We arrived at 3:40 pm and was told our rooms are not ready yet and recommended that we go have a walk around the area and come back in an hour! Honestly, after a flight, we just want to get rested and then have dinner. With no choice, we went for a walk. We came back after more than an hour and our rooms were still not ready! Front desk told us to sit in the lobby and wait for another half an hour. No one came to ask us if we need anything while we waited. After more than half an hour, we were so tired that everyone asked to go inquire when will the rooms be ready. STILL NOT READY! But they said we can go to the rooms and if we needed adjustments, they can look after it later. The room has NO PRIVACY! The shower and toilet are separated but only has one sliding glass door that encloses one or the other at a time and you can see through. The bathtub is in the open. The hand sinks and counter design is so bad that every time you do anything with the water, you get drips on the floor. The shower faucet is the worst design I’ve seen in any hotel, so hard to adjust the temperature cuz you cannot figure out how much you’ve turned. And they all leak! Housekeeping was not professional enough. We found amenities that were not there the second day which means they didn’t give them to us the first day. Our mini bar was not refilled on the second day and I have to call front desk to refill it. There were still soap scums on the shower door handles and behind the wash basin. And interestingly, we found spelling mistake on the room service reminder card. That’s not acceptable for an international 5-star hotel. Breakfast has lots of choices but taste was just ok. We’ve had better at 4-star hotels. Location is very convenient to the adjacent mall with tons of restaurants and choices. However, the amount of people smoking in front of the hotel was not acceptable. Maybe they were too busy on check in day that they cannot have someone outside the hotel to inform people they cannot smoke there or it was some prominent guest smoking there and they didn’t dare to stop him but that one thing I noticed when I got out of the car upon arrival: SMOKING! Was glad there wasn’t much cigars smell after moving away from the front door. And people do not respect personal space. They stand so close to me and talked loudly. It was too uneasy. And they budge! My friend told me I have to be demanding and “bitchy” in China if I want things done but it’s hard being a Canadian for 40 year. Overall, I was not getting what I paid for.

JJeffrey AlanMy family and I have visited Beijing 5 times since 2011, and every time we've stayed at the Tangla. It has definitely lost some of its initial grandeur through the years, but is still a good value.
The rooms are clean and a little more spacious than a typical hotel room, with a desk area and a bathroom that includes a separate tub and shower. The hotel has 22 floors with 4 elevators that work very efficiently. It was rare when we needed to wait longer than a minute for the elevator to arrive.
The location is pretty good. Right across the street is a shopping mall with a supermarket, numerous restaurants on the 4th and 5th floors and some fast food on the first floors. On another side of the street is the Capital Museum, which is worth checking out for an afternoon if you have the time. A subway stop is a half-kilometer walk away, and that subway line runs directly to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Wangfujing, and numerous other attractions.
However, traffic at this intersection has made this location less desirable over time. The main intersection doesn't allow left turns, and street lights don't change for 2 or more minutes at a time during most of the day. As a result, when taking a taxi, your taxi might be mere blocks away but nevertheless 5 minutes to get to the hotel. The traffic can also make taking a taxi down Chang'an street very, very slow. The 6km taxi ride to the Forbidden City can easily take 30 or more minutes just between waiting for your car to arrive and the roundabout way he has to take to get there.
The hotel has a gym and pool. The pool is really nice and my son says the gym is too. There's a salon/massage place that we haven't used.
It used to have three restaurants but one of them has since closed. We did not use either of the existing restaurants due to the abundance of good restaurants across the street. There is a tea room that we would have taken advantage of during this last trip but it has been closed indefinitely as well. The hotel features 5-star award plaques from previous years but the most recent year with a plaque is from 2018.
Support from the front desk in English is minimal. They had one staff member with a limited knowledge of English but that's the extent of it. My wife speaks Chinese so this didn't present a burden for me, but it might for some other English speaking guests.
Overall, it's still a good hotel with a good location, and prices are very good. I can't say when I'll be back in Beijing again, but when I am chances are good I'll be back at the Tangla.

DDavidThe Good:
We arrived to find our rooms upgraded to larger ones (though I’m not entirely sure that’s a plus). The rooms are massive—over 50m²—with a walk-in closet, a bathtub, and a large bed. The location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk to APM Mall and right next to Wangfujing Street.
The Bad:
The hotel lacks a proper driveway at the lobby, and there's a staircase leading up to reception. We’re traveling as a family for two weeks in China with three large suitcases and two smaller bags, and the doorman asked me to carry everything up the stairs myself. The rooms are in dire need of renovation—many fixtures are falling apart. In one room, the glass on the coffee table slid off when my kids accidentally leaned on it, which was quite dangerous. Both rooms we booked were in similar poor condition.
Housekeeping was inconsistent—they cleaned one room but skipped the other until we asked. Toiletries were limited to just a shower cap unless requested. The hotel claims this is part of an environmental program, but oddly, the other room was fully stocked, making the excuse feel insincere. Because the rooms are so large, some areas were dusty and not properly cleaned. Lighting controls are also a hassle—there’s no master switch, so you have to walk around turning on multiple lights just to brighten up the space.

QQiguaiaicaideshanyaoThe service is really good. The response to any questions is very quick and efficient. The enthusiasm is bounded. I was a little worried after reading the bad reviews, but it turned out that I was overthinking. I participated in the facial painting class in the hotel's cultural activities. There are many movies to choose from in the private cinema. It feels so comfortable to watch it in a private theater. I heard that the spa in this hotel is remarkable. I didn't have time to experience it. I will definitely come again next time. If you want to better experience the various activities of the hotel, I really recommend staying for two consecutive nights. The back door leading to the Summer Palace is super convenient. The filming that the hotel cooperated with is also worthwhile, and the makeup and photography are very good. When checking out, we were given a luggage tag with a customized name, and as it was close to the Lantern Festival, we were also given glutinous rice balls. I was really super satisfied with this stay.
