Most locals consider this spot the start of the ascent of the Great Wall. The Badaling Great Wall is the most complete section among the various great walls in Beijing. The total length of this section is 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) with 43 watchtowers; however, only 2.3 miles (3.74 kilometers) and 19 watchtowers have been restored and opened to visitors. Compared with other sections, most stairs are not very steep and equipped with handrails, so it is a relatively easier climb.

"On the first day of Shanxi, a female tour guide took us to Jinci. It was very good and shocking, so the tour guides in the next itinerary have some expectations and comparison cornerstones. The Yungang Grottoes, the tour guide contacted the day before, the sound was quite thick, I thought it was OK, the next morning after picking us up, I saw that it was a hairy boy, my heart was sinking, I don't know how the level is. In the whole three hours, the strength has changed our view. The knowledge reserve is very sufficient and the explanation is very meticulous. For example, the new exhibition area will also tell us that it was built later. The various scenes in the former grotto can be combined with the story one by one. The on-site explanation is indeed more real than watching the video or writing the introduction. We also have questions during the period, and they are also answered one by one. There is no interruption of the content and order of the introduction because of our questions. This still shows some strength. It takes three hours. I didn't pull it down for a minute. Guide Li worked hard. We are very satisfied. We will come again next time. If there are friends who want to come to Shanxi, we will recommend you to them. Thank you."

Hohhot.Dazhao Temple / Saishang old street

Highlights: Ih Juu Temple in downtown Hohhot was built in the 8th year of the Ming Emperor Wanli (1580) by Altan Khan, the leader of the Mongolian Tümed. The temple belongs to the Gelug (or Yellow) School of Tibetan Buddhism. Priceless cultural relics not to be missed on a visit to Ih Juu Temple include a silver statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni, the dragon columns and the colorful wall murals. The pure silver statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni in the temple’s main hall weighs 1,500kg. Immediately in front of the Buddha Sakyamuni are two golden dragons entwined around the columns, aptly named the Dragon Columns. Because the murals were painted with mineral-based colors, the colors remain bright and vibrant even today. The murals’ content is mostly classical stories from Buddhist scripture.

It is a pity that there is also the underground spring water repaired after the excavation. I hope to restore some aura! There are also tour guides who wear uniforms at the door. It's too messy!"
