Are there First Class Chiltern Railways tickets available?

Chiltern Railways has permanently withdrawn its First Class service, including the Business Zone product. This was part of a fare simplification strategy aimed at making tickets clearer and more affordable. Although First Class tickets can no longer be purchased, the physical carriages remain in operation.

The former Business Zone areas feature a 2+1 seating layout, compared with the 2+2 or 3+2 arrangement in Standard. Passengers with a Standard ticket now have full access to these seats at no extra cost, making journeys more comfortable without the need for an upgrade.

Where can previous Business Zone seats be found?

The declassified Business Zone carriages are usually located towards one end of the train, particularly on services between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone. These seats cannot be reserved, so availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to current timetables, the former First Class seating can be found on the following services:

Weekdays

06:14 Stourbridge Junction to London Marylebone

07:15, 11:45, 12:45 Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone

Tips for securing these seats
