Bali Bridge, formerly known as Yongtong Bridge, is a three-hole stone arch bridge in Ming Dynasty built in 1446. It spans the Tonghui River and is the only place to pass from Tongzhou to Beijing. It is named after Bali from Tongzhou. It is located in the east-south of Chaoyang District. It borders Tongxian County in the east, Guojiadian in the west, Dongjunzhuang in the north, and Tonghui River in the south. The village is named after the bridge. Bali Bridge is 50 meters long from north to south and 16 meters wide from east to west. There are 32 sets of stone balustrades on both sides of the bridge deck. The carving knife on the board is smooth, rough and powerful. There are 33 pairs of pillars on the railing, and stone lions are carved on each pillar. The stone lions have different shapes and are lifelike, which can be compared with the famous Lugou Bridge stone lions. At the east and west ends of the bridge, there are a pair of beasts, with long mane and dense forest, with their heads held high. There were four water-suppressing beasts lying on the slope protection stone, twisting their necks and tilting their heads, glaring at Bi Bo. 200 meters east of the bridge south, there is a stone road monument made by Emperor Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty. On both sides of the bridge, there are green willows and poplars, fragrant grasses, and picturesque scenery. During the day, you can see the towering ancient city by leaning on the railing to the east; at night, you can watch the water from the railing, and among the fine waves, the shadow of the moon is whirling, either like a jade plate or like a silver hook. If a passenger air cargo boat passes through, the paddle breaks the jade plate, and the water breaks the silver hook, which is very spectacular. One of the eight scenic spots in Tongzhou in the past, the Long Bridge Reflecting the Moon, refers to this place.

Beijing Bali Bridge, from the North Canal Bali, and the lights of the ancient tower as the iconic buildings of Tongzhou!
Originally named Yongtong Bridge, the Ming Dynasty three-hole stone arch bridge was built in 1446 and spans the Tonghui River. It is a necessary passage from Tongzhou to Beijing Avenue, named for its distance from Tongzhou eight miles. Located at exit B2 of Baliqiao Metro Station and north of Baliqiao Toll Station of Jingtong Expressway. Bali Bridge is not only an ancient bridge with unique shape, but also an ancient battlefield in the late Qing Dynasty. Look point 1: The middle arch of Bali Bridge is very high, but its small archs on both sides are very small. Such a disparity also brings a very unique sense of form to Bali Bridge. The arch of Bali Bridge is unique in Beijing. Tonghui River used to be the main grain transport channel in Beijing. The high arch bridge allows sailing boats to pass through directly, and Bali Bridge has the reputation of "Bali Bridge does not fall off the mast". Viewpoint 2: The stone carvings are beautifully decorated. The stone lions with different shapes and vivid shapes are carved on the guard posts of 32 Han Baiyu guardrail boards. Look at point 3: There is a vivid and massive stone animal on both sides of the East and west, along the north and South shores. Legend has it that the water animal in Zhenshui is a clam with nine children born by dragons. Its image is very strange. It says that the dragon is not a dragon, but a shrimp is not a shrimp. It likes swimming and takes water as its companion. Viewpoint 4: Typical straight arch bridge, the central stone of the bridge deck is the central axis of the bridge deck. Compared with the curved arch bridge, its deck is a very straight road, formerly used for mule and horse carts to transport goods. Even today, it is still the main road for traffic. Look at point 5: The old battlefield. In the ten years of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, 30,000 Qing troops fought a bloody battle with the British and French invaders here. In August 1860, Qing soldiers stationed in the Bali Bridge area bravely killed the enemy and looked to death as if they were going to die. All 30,000 soldiers died in the fierce attack of foreign guns and artillery. At 9:00 a.m. on September 21, 1860, the Bali Bridge was lost and bodies were found everywhere on that day. Looking back on the history of the ancient bridge, we should not forget the national shame and remember the martyrs.
