The former site of Meiyuan is located in Zhongjia Mountain, in the northwest suburb of Shapingba District, Chongqing, and is a key national protection cultural relics. In the spring of 1945, Dai Yu, director of the China-US Special Technical Cooperation Institute, built a villa in Zhongjiashan as deputy director of the cooperation institute and US Navy Admiral Meros. Because Melos likes plum flowers, Dai Yu named the villa "Meiyuan". Meiyuan is currently open to the outside world for free for visitors to visit.
