Historic site in Nishi Shin residential area

    Original Text

It is a historic site in a residential area, about a 10-minute walk from Nishishin Station. It was maintained as a park, and there was a coal mine near here in the Taisho Period. There is a difference in height, but when you climb, you can see far away, and you can see the sub-city area of Hyakujihama well.

There was a difference in height in Fukuoka city!

    Original Text

It is a visit for the first time in about half a century from the elementary school. I thought I would go home, but I remember the place, and I walked from Fujisaki's "Autumn leaves Hachimangu Shrine" for about 10 minutes, and a small hill in a quiet residential area appears. You can see Fukuoka Tower from the well-maintained summit. What was surprising was that this was the "Battlefield of the Mongol invasion"? It was. If you read the explanation board carefully, it seems that it was the position of the former army. History is deep.

    Higher 300m

    Original Text

If you walk about 15 minutes on the Sawara Highway from Nishishin Subway Station, you will find the battlefield of the Mongol invasion in a park. If you climb to the highest point on a hill a little over 300m, you can see Fukuoka Tower on the north side. Unfortunately, the sea is not visible because the buildings are lined up. There are no high-rise condominiums around, so the wind is comfortable.
