    Sad place

    Was here in February 2022. The monument was closed for restoration, completely covered with boards. Therefore, I only visited the observation deck high on the mountain next to the Mask of Sorrow. F...

    Mask of Sorrow is one of the attraction to be visited when in Magadan. Located uphill and can be seen from pretty much anywhere in the city.

    Respectful tribute to Magadan’s past

    This monument is a sad but necessary reminder of part of Russia’s history that many previously wished to keep hidden. It is a fitting tribute to the millions who gave their lives in the gulags.

    Gulag history place

    Cultural heritage of the USSR to the victims of repression. Best town view from the the top of mountain. Forest and mushrooms around. We saw the fox!
