It is a spot about 10 minutes by car from JR Izumo City Station. Not only the restored tumuli, but also an exhibition facility where you can see glass bracelets and earthenware used for funerals up close, so you can enjoy it even on rainy days.

It was hot because it was adjacent to the Izumo Yayoi Forest Museum, but I also saw it. It was beautifully maintained as an ancient tumulus culture scattered in the Izumo area. There was also an exhibition room in the tumulus.

四隅突出型墳丘墓

四隅突出型墳丘墓は出雲地方を中心とした特徴のある形をした墳丘墓。 西谷墳墓群史跡公園には四隅突出型墳丘墓を含むたくさんの墳墓があります。 斜面に葺石が施され復元され王墓だったと考えられているそうです、出土した副葬品は隣接した出雲弥生の森博物館に展示されています。 また内部展示室もあり埋葬の様子がわかります。
