Baling Mountain Ancient Tombs

The Balingshan Ancient Tombs are located in the Balingshan National Forest Park, 20 kilometers northwest of Jingzhou Ancient City, Jingzhou City. Baling Mountain, also known as Long Mountain. It has beautiful scenery, lush forests, towering ancient trees, and colorful flowers and plants. It is "longitudinal and winding like a dragon", so it was regarded as a feng shui treasure by the ancients. The Balingshan tombs are 8 kilometers long from north to south and 5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of more than 40 square kilometers. The ancient tombs in the mountains are dense, and there are still more than 560 large, large and medium-sized ancient tombs in the mounds. The tombs lasted for 2000 years from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Many tombs stand on the top of the mountain, like mountain peaks, which constitute the spectacular scenery of Baling Mountain. According to historical records, the tomb of King Zhuang of Chu is in the mountains, and there are dozens of tombs in the front and back, all of which are arranged in a row. The tombs of the Ming Dynasty Liao King Jian and Su, Jing, Hui, Gong, Zhuang and many other kings are all located in the north of the mountain. On the mountain, there are scenic spots such as flat head mound, hat-changing platform, hat-falling platform, and horse running spring. Baling Mountain is now a national forest park. The trees on the mountain are towering, the tea sea is full of pines, and the clouds are shrouded in smoke. It is both magnificent and deep. Therefore, there is a saying that "if you don't reach Baling Mountain, you don't count as Jingzhou".
