A welcoming place for culture lovers
We visited this place and were thrilled with how beautiful the collection of traditional local kimono and furoshiki was. The house itself is very pretty, and if you like traditional Japanese architect...
It is located south along the road between the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa and the city hall, and is on the north side of the Furusato Daijinkan. It's a place like a community space, and I don't think it's basically a place for sightseeing, but I thought it would be nice to use an old folk house in an exchange space with foreigners.
It seems that it is open to the public as a place for international exchange, but when I visited, "Satoshi Suematsu Kanazawa Castle Restoration Painting Exhibition Yoshiharu Sakura" was held. The restored paintings of Kanazawa Castle are wonderful, but the masterpiece is still a portrait depicting Toshiie Maeda, the founder of the Kaga domain, and his lawful wife Matsu. In addition, the building and the Japanese garden are a tasteful and calm space.
It seems that it is open to the public and used as a place for international exchange, but it was attracted to a tasteful old folk house. It seems to have been built in the Taisho era. You can visit the room for free, and when I went there, there were flowers, and it was a wonderful Japanese space. There is also a Japanese garden, so it was good just to see the building.
The home of the old house "Yokoyama family" was inherited and renovated. Although it is a rest / exhibition facility, it is a facility where you can rest and heal very relaxing.
