Chinju no Mori, which is also a designated cultural property
If you go east from the main street of former Karuizawa, you will find Suwa Shrine surrounded by a guardian forest. When you enter from the torii gate of the shrine, you will see the shrine with many large trees. In addition, there are seven sacred trees. It seems that the shrine itself is a designated cultural property.

Suwa-sama is located near the Karuizawa Kai, a tennis court where His Majesty and his wife met. Even though it was Karuizawa, it was a fairly large shrine, and the shade of the trees was cool even in the summer.
