Mangshan Tombs

Mangshan ancient tombs are huge, covering more than 20 townships such as Mengjin and Yanshi. From Jiuliuao Village, Changdai Township, Mengjin County in the west to Yangzhong Village, Hongshan Township, the suburb of Luoyang City, and from Nanyoudian Village, Shanhua Township, Yanshi Township, to Zhongyi Village, Shanhua Township in the east. The Mangshan Mausoleum Group is one of the most concentrated areas of ancient mausoleums in the world, and is known as the "Oriental Pyramid". Mangshan has an advantageous geographical location, with the mountain on the back and the river facing the river. Since ancient times, there is a saying that "born in Suzhou and Hangzhou, and buried in Beimang", so there are many ancient tombs here, "a place without lying cows". There are more than 970 large-scale sealed tombs in the entire tomb complex, and there are hundreds of thousands of ancient tombs. These include 8 royal tombs in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, 5 Eastern Han Emperor Mausoleums, 1 Cao Wei Emperor Mausoleum, 5 Western Jin Emperor Mausoleums, 4 Northern Wei Emperor Mausoleums, and 1 Emperor Mausoleum of the Later Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. It is a place where many emperors are buried in China. The age of the mausoleums ranges from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Wei, Western Jin Dynasty, and Northern Wei Dynasty, and continues to the Later Tang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties. It is roughly distributed in an east-west direction and can be divided into 4 sections: the western section (the Mausoleum of Northern Wei Dynasty), the middle section (the Mausoleum of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the Mausoleum of the Later Tang Dynasty), the eastern section (the Mausoleum of the Western Jin Dynasty and the Mausoleum of Cao Wei), and the Jiahe Section (the Mausoleum of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the Western Jin Dynasty). tombs).
