... ditch, large stone walls, gate tower and direction towers. Now it is part of the sightseeing spot within the Nagoya Castle area, but the past is the strategic of defense of enemy invasion.
It is a beautiful turret built on the southeast end of the main enclosure.

The southeast corner turret was built in the southeast corner of the main enclosure where the castle tower and Honmaru Palace are built in the center of Nagoya Castle. It is made with the same structure as the southwest corner turret built at the end of the southwest side for the sound. The white walls were beautiful, and the structure was very splendid as a turret, which made me feel even the dignity of a small castle tower.
Enter from the east gate and pass through the Ninomaru Garden, the first thing that appears is the "Southeast corner turret". The southeast is also called Tatsumi turret because it corresponds to Tatsumi. Built around 1612, it is designated as a national important cultural property. It is similar to the southwest corner turret, but there are some subtly different parts, so it may be interesting to look for the difference.
I stopped by when I visited Nagoya Castle in April 2019. It was a tower just after entering the Omotesanomonmon gate of Nagoya Castle, and the day I visited it was not open to the public. I thought the view from the outside (south side) of the moat was beautiful.
It's not inside, so it's hard to say word of mouth, but I pointed the camera because it's an important defense base from the Ninomaru Garden. I was able to enter the Honmaru Palace and the corner turret in the southwest, but at the time of writing the word of mouth, I was not sure if the corner turret here was open or I was not sure, and if it was open, I felt like I missed it.
