A historic building by our hotel
The Hokkaido Kamishoji Building is a historic building that's very close to Hotel Nord. It is architecturally fascinating and worth a visit if you're intonarchitecture
This is on your right when you go straight on Chuo-dori from Otaru Station. (It takes about 8 minutes on foot, just opposite the former Yasuda Bank Otaru Branch) The outline is a typical bank style in the early Showa period with four large orders (cylindrical) placed in front and tiles on the wall. It was a heavy building.
This is the former 47th Bank Otaru Branch, which was built on the front of Ikinai Boulevard, which runs right next to the former Yasuda Bank Otaru Branch on Chuo-dori. It is a few tens of seconds walk from the former Yasuda Bank. Built in 1936 and 1945. It's not as big as Yasuda Bank, but it looks small, but it's a Greek temple-style facade that I did at that time, showing the dignity as a bank. This is also a building designated as a historic building designated by Otaru City.
It was one of the retro buildings standing down Chuo-dori from Otaru Station. There were many buildings with similar impressions in the surrounding area, and it seemed that you could see the origin of Otaru. It looks like an active building, and I just looked at the exterior, but it seems that few tourists are interested in the old building in the first place.
I came across it when I went straight down Chuo-dori from Otaru Station. It was one of the retro architectures and there was also a guide display. It seems that the feature was not only that the exhibition was maintained but also that it was carefully used as an active office.
