Closed
High water levels made the trail to the lighthouse inaccessible. Warnings of blue green algae and relentless black flies made us glad we hadn’t rented a cottage! Try when water levels recede.
Cool old lighthouse.
Nice walk out to the lighthouse, however lots of bugs once we were walking along the beach. I guess we should have had bug spray.
Beautiful and peaceful
We paddled from the beach access on the North road, all along the ridge that separates the marsh, and to the beautiful lighthouse. It was wonderful. We even got to see the rare Lake Erie Watersnake!

Only when we were heading back from the lighthouse to get our bikes, we saw the sign saying the lighthouse trail was closed. Shame on us! I was about to write that the trail isn’t “flat and easy” as ...
