Kakunodate is called "Michinoku no Kotoyo". A river called the Tochigiuchi River flows in parallel to the west side of the Samurai residence street where samurai residences are scattered. After walking north to south on Samurai Residence Street, we walked through the green area on the embankment along the Utsukiuchi River. The top of the embankment was like a park, and it was a tree-lined road with old Yoshino cherry trees. It was a place that made me think that the cherry blossom season was amazing. Since the season was autumn, it was just a riverside lined with dead trees, but the river itself was relaxed and healed when I looked at it.
Usually it is a river bank, but during the cherry blossom season, beautiful cherry blossoms bloom along the bank and are crowded with many tourists. The parking lot is large, so you can keep it with plenty of room.
The cherry blossoms were over and it was the time of leaf cherry blossoms. Still, it was a fresh green corridor, which was beautiful. It was a wonderful green tunnel that made me want to walk from end to end if I had time.
