It is said that it is popular as a hydrangea temple locally. When I went, the season was over, but it was still in bloom and I enjoyed it.

A historic temple founded in the Heian period

    Original Text

It is a venerable temple opened by Jikaku Daishi Ennin in the Heian period, and it is said that it was counted as one of the Kanto Gogaji Temples of the Tendai sect during the Edo period. It is commonly known as Hydrangea Temple, and the hydrangea blooms very beautifully from June to 7 around the month. There are many cultural properties designated by Gunma Prefecture and Shibukawa City in the precincts.

It's a little-known spot in Sakura ^^ I look forward to the flowering of Sakura at Shinkoji Temple every year, such as Yoshino Somei and weeping cherry blossoms. Although it is local, I found it after seeing the Jomo Shimbun ^^

    Hydrangea is beautiful.

    Original Text

It is a venerable temple that was founded by Jikaku Daishi Ennin in the Heian period, protected by Shingen Takeda during the Sengoku period, and was counted as one of the five temples of the Tendai sect in the Kanto region during the Edo period. It seems that this place is also famous as a hydrangea temple, and it was before the flowers were in full bloom, but some hydrangeas were quietly in bloom in the precincts and approaches.
