Usually, my perfect weekend is pretty low-key—just watering my monstera on the balcony, making some comfort food, and curling up with a good book. I’m not much of a long-distance traveler, but today I was flipping through a magazine at the shop and got completely sucked into this gorgeous place.
It’s La Brasserie at the Royal Mansour Casablanca, and it just got listed on the 50 Best Discovery list! Honestly, just looking at the design had me swooning. It’s got this gorgeous Art Deco vibe—marble floors, velvet booths, and crystal chandeliers. It feels so classic and romantic, like stepping into another era.
The menu sounds incredible too. It’s run by a French chef, Éric Frechon, who blends traditional French bistro style with local Moroccan ingredients, like fresh oysters from Oualidia and local lobster. And apparently, they still do tableside service, like carving the fish right in front of you and making flame-kissed crêpes. I love that kind of old-school dining ritual, it has so much soul!
They also have this lush, green courtyard terrace which looks so peaceful (kind of reminds me of a secret garden, though much grander than my tiny plant corner!). On weekends they even have a live DJ, which sounds like the perfect vibe for a breezy evening.
Maybe one day I’ll actually brave the long flight to Morocco to experience it. But for now, I’m happily armchair-traveling with my cup of tea. Has anyone actually been to Casablanca? Would love to know if it's as dreamy as it looks!
