Sasuke Inari Shrine is one of Kamakura's shrines, and one of the shrines that seeks for marriage. It is within walking distance of the Great Buddha of Kamakura. After Yuan Yoritomo was exiled to the island, an old man appeared in his dream and advised him to fight against the Heike family. After winning the victory, the Yuan family established a shogunate. Yoritomo was called Saden when he was a child, so the word Sasuke was added before the name of the shrine. The shrine is surrounded by a dense forest. There are several vermilion torii gates, which have become a major landscape of the shrine.
