It’s such a beautiful hotel in a peaceful place. Everything was nice, the staff was friendly, the room was spacious and tidy. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone that I know.

The room had a great view and was really spacious. I slept so comfortably! I'd definitely stay here again if I'm ever back. The only thing is that even with the elevator, it's still a good 7-8 minute walk to the train station, haha. Overall, a solid 4-star hotel!

The main reason to book this hotel is the magnificent view from the room. It is genuinely breathtaking, and waking up to such a view is an absolute pleasure. Unfortunately, that is where the positive aspects of my short stay at Kamakura Prince Hotel come to an end. The problems began the moment we checked in. We arrived a little after 5 p.m., only to discover that the swimming pool—the second reason I had booked this hotel in the first place—would be closing at 6 p.m. Unsurprisingly, we had no chance to use it that day. The next issue we encountered was the complete lack of even a basic command of English among the front desk staff. And yes, I am perfectly understanding when people do not speak English. However, there is one important exception: hotel employees whose job is to interact directly with international guests. Once we got to our room, it was clear that it had seen better days. The furnishings are beginning to show their age, although the room itself remains perfectly pleasant. And, of course, it is impossible to overlook the spectacular view of the ocean waves. The following morning, we decided to make another attempt at using the swimming pool. However, the staff tried to explain that we needed some sort of tickets to enter the pool—even though access was included in the room rate. This was the first time anyone had mentioned these tickets to us. After about five minutes of confusion, we were eventually allowed in, only to discover that the pool was freezing cold. Unsurprisingly, after swimming a couple of laps, we got out. As a final touch, the hotel also gently reminded guests that slippers were not to be worn around the property and that tattoos should remain covered at all times. While I understand and respect that these are the hotel’s policies, they certainly added to the rather rigid atmosphere of the stay. During check-out, the front desk staff did not ask how our stay had been. Instead, the entire farewell consisted of the remarkably concise: “No extra pay, goodbye.” A little on the dry side.

For a high-end hotel in Kamakura, the location is excellent, the service is great, and the facilities are very comprehensive. The free rooftop terrace offers fantastic views, and there's a swimming pool. The only drawback is that the slanted elevator going up the hill on the first floor is too hidden; you'd never find it if the front desk didn't tell you about it.

Absolutely stunning sea views! I really enjoyed my stay here. It's super close to the station and the beach, and the staff were incredibly patient and provided excellent service. I'd definitely consider staying at this hotel again on my next Kamakura vacation.

It's absolutely beautiful when the weather is good! Make sure to book the Enoshima and Mount Fuji Twin Room; the view is incredible. The room itself is very clean, and it was so relaxing to sit by the window and drink coffee in the morning.

Wonderful 3 night stay at a sleepy seaside town. Easy access via Enoden to Kamakura & Enoshima. Restaurants close around 8 so be sure to have early dinner. Try sweet potato crepes by the beach and beware of hawks swooping in for your food. Nearby up the slope is a small dining and shopping area with a supermarket & fantastic ramen shop. Note to take free shuttle bus from busstop next to station or inclined elevator via banquet hall from main road (or risk having to pull luggages up a steep slope!). Tip if heading straight to Airport. Book Narita Express no. 27 from Ofuna direct to Narita Airport. Simply take an Enoden from Shichirigahama station to Enoshima station. Then, walk to the building behind and take Shonan monorail to Ofuna for a quiet ride with luggages.

Even though it rained heavily that day and we couldn’t see Mount Fuji from the room, our affection for the hotel wasn’t affected. The room was decent and spacious, and the most impressive part was the Japanese restaurant. The service and food were amazing, and it became one of our favorite restaurants on the trip.
