📍 1 Chome-8-1 Komachi, Kamakura

"The hotel location was fantastic, walking distance from JR and Enoden line train stations and about 10 min walk from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine. Room was very clean, large and has a view of Torii gate. Muji breakfast was good."

📍 2 Chome-2-39 Yuigahama, Kamakura

"The room was very clean and quiet, but it lacked self-service toiletries, which was a bit of a letdown. There was a microwave, which was very convenient for heating up food. We stayed in a mixed dorm, but everyone was respectful and quiet, not disturbing each other."

📍 Ofuna, 1 Chome−26−5 相鉄フレッサイン 1F, Kamakura

"It is like other Japanese hotel. Friendly staff, clean but small room and close to train station. A lot of supermarkets and shops near by. Got nothing to complain, just that the city is a big boring."

📍 Koshigoe 2-12-20, Kamakura

"The staffs are so kind and the location of the place is so nice. Really close to the station and on the main road. Somehow there are some sound of the car during night, but not matter. Comparing to the nice room and location, the price is so cheap."

"It's a family-run guesthouse, convenient for getting around and with great service, but the facilities are a bit old, and it gets very cold in winter; even with the air conditioning on, it's not very effective."

"We had planned to play on the Kamakura beach before returning to the guesthouse, but after dinner, it was already 8 p.m. We hurriedly arrived at 8:05 p.m., but the check-in counter actually closed at 8 p.m., so the staff wrote down the instructions for entering our room and posted them on the door. That evening, we even had to ask staff from another nearby restaurant for help, and after some trouble, we finally figured out how to get in. I hope the hotel will at least leave a mobile phone number so we can contact them in the future. That would be ideal. Of course, the ocean view is nice, but unless I'm not driving, staying by the sea is a great option. Because I drive, I really shouldn't have paid HK$1,800 for a room with no free parking and very little privacy. The hotel is actually a restaurant, and our room faced the area where their guests were walking around, smoking, and taking photos! For the same price, we could have stayed in a four- or five-star hotel in Yokohama. Ugh, lesson learned!"

"Clean and tidy, good environment"

Ohmachi Junxion Hotels in Kamakura

"The entrance was hard to find. There were three bunk bed blocks (six beds in total) surrounded by boards in a room at the back of the store that looked like it had been built by an amateur and was made of exposed concrete (probably not permitted under fire and building regulations?). (The lower floor was not high enough to sit on, making it difficult to do so.) The mattresses on the beds seemed to be made of thin urethane. It was difficult to sleep on. The curtains were unsightly, with strings hanging down. The batteries in the portable light inside the bed enclosure were dead, and although they were replaced, they would stop working soon after. The shared space was small for a six-person room, and the only thing it contained was a single-person sofa in the corner. It was the worst guesthouse I have ever stayed in."

Jr-East Hotel Mets Kamakura Ofuna ★★★
"The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Ōfune Station. However, the windows are very well-sealed, so you can barely hear the train noise outside. The room, although not huge, was very clean and tidy, and the facilities were quite new. The service was very enthusiastic."
