Danzhou Ancient Town was the seat of Sanjiang County from 1591 (Ming Dynasty Wanli Year) to 1914 (Three Years of the Republic of China), then known as Huaiyuan County, has a history of more than 400 years, and is the only ancient town in China built on the river island.
