The Church of Our Lady of Ankang is located in a narrow and pointed corner of the Grand Canal next to the lagoon. It can be seen from the Grand Canal, the College Bridge and the St. Mark's Square. It is one of the important landmarks in Venice and often appears on postcards. Its designer is Longena (Baldassare Longhena, 1596/1597-1682), built for 17th century Venice out of a plague.
