Just a short walk along the beach east from coastal Waikiki, this similarly named aquarium provides inquisitive visitors with an unequaled look at Hawaii's abundant sea life. Fish from all along the islands are stored in beautifully decorated living tanks, that are home to coral more vibrantly colored than most anything you'll find offshore at Waikiki. Keep your eyes peeled for Hawaii's state fish, the exhaustively long named humuhumunukunukuapua'a (Anyone like to try that one five times fast). For an informative and visually pleasing look at Hawaii's underwater residents, bring the whole family to the Waikiki Aquarium.

Founded in 1904, it is the second oldest public aquarium in the United States. Since 1919, the Waikiki Aquarium has been an institution of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It's just a 15 minute walk west of Diamond Head Beach Hotel.

This is a groovy way to see ocean life up close and personal. One of may favorite pics is one of my son in the giant clam shell. Great place to show keiki the life under the sea.

Wonderful day to go was the 112th birthday celebration. Admitted for $4 with plenty to see and do.

It is a small aquarium but very welcoming! There are many interesting species to observe and learn from. The people are very nice. This place actually works as fund collector for research at the University of Hawaii and conservation programs! Loved the jellyfishes!!

A small but excellent spot on the edge of Waikiki to get acquainted with the local marine life. Run by the University of Hawaii. Plan for a 2 hour visit
