Traditional beer bar in Prague If you are looking for a correct Prague bar in the old town, U Medvidku is a good choice. It is close to the National Avenue subway station. There is indeed a grocery store at the main entrance, but beer appliances are indeed worth a look and once you enter the beer shop, it seems that there is not much cultural difference. Locals and some tourists are more integrated, with a considerable traditional Czech beer hall and restaurant feel. It was a bar with real Czech food and no extra decorations at all. Passed it around 8pm on the first day as it was really busy and heavily smoked but came back the next evening. Locals everywhere and it was a great place to spend a pleasant evening. It was clean and not too smoky in the afternoon when we went. Renovated more decent, better than the usual traditional bar, yak is a good choice. Menu is Czech, English and German translations are available. The staff seemed OK, the price was reasonable, we didn't try the small brewery upstairs. The restaurant was busy when we went. This beer is cheap, only 35 CZK, you can buy 0.5 liter Budvar, 10 RMB looks, and the food price is very reasonable. For example, I served roasted wild boar with white bread and bacon dumplings for 149 CZK (about 50 RMB). The bar was very nice, but the waiter did seem a bit busy and we waited about half an hour to prepare the food. Try this place, even if it's just a beer! Tips: Hours: 11:30 am to 11:30 pm.
