What people are saying:

☘️If it is not the cause of the epidemic, it is estimated that the long vacation at the end of this year will not be spent in Shanghai. But even if you go out to travel, you will run around the former residence or something. ☘️The former residence of Sun Yat-sen is located at No. 7 Xiangshan Road, the best area in Shanghai. Business hours: Tuesday to Sunday 09:00-16:30, closed on Monday. Show your health code and take your temperature before entering. ☘️Photographs are allowed in the cultural relics museum, but they are not allowed in the former residence. The Museum of Cultural Relics is an exhibition hall reconstructed from a European-style house. It has two floors and an exhibition area of more than 700 square meters. More than 150 pieces of cultural relics, handwritings, and historical materials are on display, including authentic Chinese tunic suits, command knives, and wedding souvenir photos. ☘️Photographing is not allowed in the former residence. Every floor is strictly guarded by staff. Whether it is the study or the living room, the display is organized and spacious. The most impressive thing is that Sun Yat-sen and his wife have customized book boxes, such as Twenty-Four History and other books. ☘️The master bedroom faces south, with plenty of light, and it is very comfortable to be quietly basking in the sun. ☘️The green area of the square outside the balcony of the former residence is large, with green grass and fresh air. ☘️The years are quiet and new.

Additional Information

Introduction

The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is located in Shanghai’s central Huangpu District. Sun Yat-sen was the founding father of the Warlord Era and a major figure in Chinese history. The residence is a simple two-story European-style house where Sun lived from 1918 until his death in 1925. Today the residence is open to the public along with the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Exhibition. Almost all the items on display are original and left the way they were at the time. Like the many historic residences in Shanghai, the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is fascinating both for its architecture and connection to Chinese history.
