Some unexpected treasures to be found here.
The exhibits in this museum are largely those in the collection of the late Namio Egami. The majority of the holdings are from cultures other than Japan. For example, I was moved to view two praying...
There is an entrance on the right of Exit 3 of Nihon Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line, and you can go without getting wet even in the rain. The building itself is not that big, but there are interesting materials. This time, I visited the museum for the first time because I wanted to see the special exhibition "Eurasia's Eyes" (until February 12, 2023). The admission fee is generally 300 yen and is cheap. 1F Reception, Museum Shop 2F Permanent Exhibition 3F Special Exhibition 4F Yokohama City Development Memorial Museum The materials exhibited are also interesting ...
This building was originally Yokohama City Telephone Station

It is located in the same building as the Yokohama City Development Memorial Hall. There is an exhibition related to Yokohama and the Eurasian region. This building was originally the Yokohama City Telephone Station and is also the first place where telegram communication was conducted in Japan. Only the entrance on the first floor, but it is still preserved as it is today.
It was 0 minutes walk from Nihon Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line, and it was really at Exit 3 and 0 minutes. It seemed that it was just the time of the exhibition change, so I couldn't see some of it. An out-of-school learning group for elementary school students came.
It is a building that is the exit of Nihon Odori Station on the subway, and is the building of the former Yokohama Outer Telephone Station. I wasn't interested in the contents and visited because I wanted to see the old building. As it is an out-of-town telephone, it seems to correspond to the fact that there was an exchange dedicated to long-distance calls. However, the window arrangement is strange in the tile-painted building!
