Zicaotan, formerly known as "Paper Grass Lake", is located in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, where Jinbianxi and Shadaogou meet. The bottom of the pool is purplish red sandstone, which is named as Purple Grass Pool due to the impact of flowing water to form a trough. There is a slate bridge formed by natural boulders more than 3 meters long on the lake. The pool is about 8 meters long, 2 meters wide and 2 meters deep. Although it is called Zicao Pool, the water in the pool is not purple, but clear and green. The pool water reflects the strange peaks and green trees on both sides, and the purple sandstone in the pool water, and the faintly visible swimming fish contrast with each other. When you are tired from walking, take a rest here, the air is fresh and you feel comfortable.
