I passed by there during the middle of the day on my way from Beppu Station to Kitahama bus stop and there was practically no activity.

No English detail.

Nice statue in middle of arcade but no detail in English but they also provide information in Japanese language.

A narrow and short arcade connecting Takegawara Onsen in Beppu and Nagakawa-dori. It's dim and a little uncomfortable. It feels like a back street in the Showa era. Many shops were closed.

A little southeast of Beppu Station, walk toward Takegawara Onsen, and you will find an arcade as if you were in a time tunnel. The area is completely Showa. I'm breathing there as if time had stopped, such as fish shops, geta shops, and Western-style shops. Soon we arrived at Takegawara Onsen.
