南海博物馆主体建筑有三层，常设展厅共七个，分别为《南海记忆》《南海群英》《馆藏书画》《广府风情》临时展厅和《石景宜珍藏展》(包括展厅一、展厅二)，展厅面积共约3500平方米。馆藏藏品以收藏广东省南海境内出土文物如汉代陶器、唐宋瓷器、西樵山遗址石器以及南海籍历代书画家作品为主，其中西樵山遗址石器、康有为书法与信札手稿真迹为最大特色。参观时间约2个小时。
