Hiking
After the Tokyo Marathon, daughter and I went on a non pre-planned trip to North East of Tokyo. Rented a beautiful traditional Japanese house in Kasama and walked around the area without specific plan...
When you climb Kasama Castle in Yamashiro, you can see a stone wall near the castle tower. Sashino Shrine is erected on the stone wall beyond that. There used to be the castle tower of Kasama Castle here. Even if I'm tired from climbing the castle so far, my feelings are washed when I worship at the shrine. There are many megaliths on the back.
Kasama Castle was selected as one of the 100 Continued Japanese Castles. The ruins of the castle are on the mountain, and stone walls remain on the castle tower. If you climb the stone steps of the castle tower, you will see Sashino Shrine. There are large stones, and the hall of worship and the main shrine are built on it. The view from the shrine is very nice. It is a reward for climbing up to this point and worshiping. The view from Yamashiro itself.
A shrine enshrined in the ruins of Kasama Castle on Mt. Sahaku. It's desolate but tasteful

After strolling around the ruins of Kasama Castle, I arrived here. There used to be a castle tower in Kasama Castle, but it seems that it was dismantled and used the wood when building this shrine. There is 182 m here, which is the top of Mt. Sahaku, and it seems that it was off limits for a while due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, but apparently the building was safe. It seemed that there were few visitors and it was a pretty lonely place.

It is a shrine enshrined in the castle tower ruins of Kasama Castle, and it seems that wood and tiles used for the castle tower are used. After the earthquake, it was off limits, but it was lifted and you can now climb up to this point. There were also many megaliths around. You should think that you need to prepare for climbing when you get off the back.
