The statue of Shinsaku Takasugi is lit up and you can see it from the observatory of the Kaikyo YUME Tower. A historic park built in 1922 as a memorial park for the enthronement of Emperor Taisho. Known as a famous place for cherry blossoms, it is crowded with many cherry blossom viewers during the flowering season. Since it is located on a hill, you can overlook the Kanmon Strait and the mountains of Kyushu 々. The symbol is the statue of Shinsaku Takasugi, a local great man, built in 1956 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of his death.
It is within walking distance from Shimonoseki Station. The famous statue is Shinsaku Takasugi, and it is always crowded with fans of the end of the Edo period and Shinsaku Takasugi who take pictures. Because it is on a hill, the scenery is good, and it is recommended just to take a walk.
