I stayed in a 4 people shared room. The room was comfortable with enough space to storage my backpacks. Each bed is in a pod which provides privacy.
There is a shared kitchen with anything you need to prepare a meal, however it can get quite busy.
Location is okay, you need to walk about 10 to 15 min to get to the center and a bit more to get to the shore.
Pros
Room has good amenities like coffee and Clean bathroom
Cons
Noisy - hallways need carpet, needed earplugs.
There is nothing around hotel like restaurants or cafes.
Bathroom door is impossible to open without using body weight, faulty construction.
Abstract Hotel is a convenient choice for travelers due to its proximity to the CBD in Auckland. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with essential amenities such as kettle, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, air drier, complementary water, desk and a fan. Helpful staff, and a restaurant with a variety of option for breakfast or lunch. The location is very central, making it ideal to see the main spots of the city. The rooms are a bit small but the price is really cheap that what you get is more than enough for what you get. Overall, it’s a practical and affordable option for visitors.
Place is clean and decent. Not used to using biodegradable cutleries, especially when kid wanted to have milk with cereal Carpark space is so limited!! I can’t imagine if we have to park odd spaces if we have to move luggages up and down from our car.
Initially we were given level 1 which do not have lift access but thankfully staffs were very understanding and change for us for higher level so we could have lift access.
A newly opened hotel on the North Shore of Auckland, a very beautiful hotel, good in all aspects, the room facilities are complete, the bed is comfortable, and there are restaurants and shopping around, which is very convenient.
We arrived late after going to a show and the staff were very nice in getting us sorted. It took a while to heat the place up, but once we figured out the air conditioner, it was fine. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was great for our needs. The water in the shower was luke warm and even with an extra blanket, it was not warm in bed. Also, the cleaners must have sprayed the place top to bottom with air freshener because the scent was overpowering. However, the location is great and the cost was very reasonable, so all up, this was a good deal for us.
Great location. Room exactly the same listing and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Value for money! Parking is a chore and expensive in city centre but you will need to find other cheaper and walkable alternative car parks.
There's no bell boy to assist guest upon arrival and even up to the room. Basically this hotel is ”self-service” hotel. From carrying the luggages upon arrival to the room and out of the room (check out). You have to do it all by yourself by taking the trolley and upload those luggages on to it and bring it to your room. The same applies when you want to check out.
Some of the reception staff are not friendly upon welcoming guest to the hotel. Upon our arrival at around 3pm (NZD time) , the reception staff seems not happy in welcoming us. When we asked them why there's no one to assist us on the luggages (5 luggages), and their response was ”they never assist anyone beyond the double entrance glass door”. We were so suprise with their response
To be fair, there are other staff [the chef, manager and other reception staff that was on night duty (other than the one assisted us upon our arrival)] are very kind and friendly. They are happy to assist us whenever we have issue during our stay and they go beyond their duty by sharing a lot of tourism information which was very useful to us as tourist in Auckland, NZ.
We love this place. Unique little touches that make it special. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent quality linen and decent big towels. The bath in Oasis room was luxury - just needed some bubble bath or salts to make it A+. Restaurant is lovely and breakfast buffet was delicious and included in our room rate. Thanks so much we will be back again. Thank you for letting us upgrade to late checkout. Close to airport and easy to get to.
My family had a fantastic time staying at this hotel. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet is excellent although I recommend that the buffet be different everyday.
Hotel room was very clean along with the bathroom. One complaint that we have is that the AC unit is weak and appears to be clogged inside and it takes time for the room to cool.

AAnonymous UserOverall is fine, but hotel is inflexible in making some changes just due to we booked through trip.com. I bought a room for 2 nights in a separate bookings which the second night come with breakfast while the first night does not. Due to my flight schedule, I request to swap the breakfast to first night and is being rejected. Reason being I booked in separate booking and through agency, they couldn’t do any changes about it.
Well, this reason does not really sound convincing for me, because the breakfast is buffet style, is not a difficulty to add another 2 person in I guess. Yet I am not asking for free, I had paid for it.
GGuest UserI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's proximity to the airport made it an ideal choice for my travels, but it was the outstanding service, impressive facilities, and delicious food that truly made my stay memorable.
The service at the Gateway Airport Hotel was top-notch. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. From the warm greeting at check-in to the helpful assistance with my luggage, every interaction I had with the staff was pleasant and professional.
The hotel's facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a plush bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a convenient workspace. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed, with a great shower and plenty of towels. I also appreciated the hotel's fitness center and business center, which were both well-equipped and easily accessible.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The hotel's restaurant served a delicious breakfast buffet, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. I also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, which offered a great selection of local and international dishes. The food was tasty, well-presented, and reasonably priced.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere. The combination of excellent service, modern facilities, and delicious food made for a truly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and memorable place to stay in Auckland.
Rating: 5/5 stars
GGuest UserThe hotel exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Very friendly and professional staff members, from check in to breakfast.
The bed was very comfortable and I was so pleased to have feather pillows! Some bedside lights would be useful. The bathroom was spotless and the body products were very nice.
Big buffet breakfast, great coffee and egg station.
We expected a bed after a long flight, arriving in the middle of the night, we got so much more and will be back
GGuest UserThe location is quite good and the room is large and bright. The car can park just outside the room.
But there is no space to put the clothing in the toilet. We cannot watch TV since it relies on wifi and the signal is very poor. We have 4 ppl but only 3 can connect wifi. My access card cannot work and no one at reception can help even I waited for 10 minutes. Luckily I met a housekeeper who can assist me.
GGuest UserHave stayed here before and find it the best value for a place to stay overnight close to the airport with a free shuttle. Reception staff pleasant on arrival and departure. Didn't use the restaurant for dinner or breakfast but looks nice. Would stay here again if the price remains lower than other options.
TTaylor Alicia JosephineBeing in town for an overnight staycation with attending to Auckland Cabaret Festival event, I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Marsden Viaduct Hotel. My room was beautiful with a wonderful balcony view and bubble bath to pamper in as highlights. Within close walking distance to bars, restaurants and a captivating vista of the viaduct, it’s a wonderful way to feel elsewhere on holiday whilst being in the heart of the city. I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
FFengyiSky tower locates in the CBD, where you get access to any tourism sites. No need to take bus or train to shopping area. The car parking service is great which saves us a lot of budget.
GGuest UserWe were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel, which is new, has a very central location, is very clean, and has a very-well equipped gym. These features were greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we encountered a few issues that affected our experience. Despite booking for three guests, our room was only prepared for two, and even after requesting additional amenities, they were not fully provided. The in-room phone was also not working, making it difficult to communicate with the front desk.
Housekeeping seemed inconsistent—our room was not thoroughly cleaned after the first night, with some items left out of place and the trash not emptied.
Additionally, when ordering a breakfast box for an early checkout, we were surprised by the lack of flexibility in food choices, as we could only remove items rather than substitute them. A bit more understanding from the staff in handling such requests would have been appreciated.
Lastly, we noticed that some of the buffet food tasted stale, and one of our family members felt unwell afterward. We’re not sure if this was an isolated incident, but it was a bit concerning.
AAnonymous UserWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location near the CBD was convenient, the accommodations were clean, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
