I was pretty surprised with the location and the beautiful scenery. Kangaroos can be sighted from our accommodation. Such a relaxing stay away from the city.

Very clean hotel. Centrally located and close to lots of eating places. We had a small room but Room is comfortable and the bed large. Really clean beautiful spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Parking available on streets nearby if unable to get in to hotel car park. Very friendly staff and the coffee at the reception area is amazing.

Coffs Harbor holiday hotel. Most of them are Australian locals. A good stopover on the self-driving trip from Sydney to Brisbane. What I am dissatisfied with is that some of the view rooms facing the sea are blocked by woods, so they are also considered sea view rooms.

Maxime, the front desk staff was friendly and  helpful. Recognise me again when we met at the lift the next day. Helpful to advise to deduct the payment from the deposit for the buffet breakfast on the second night, so facilitate me to do express checkout, email me receipt so that it is also environmental friendly and saving time to catch the next morning flight.  Facilities are ok with pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna (though small pool and close at 8 pm) while gym 7/24 good and many equipment.  room with good view of the opera house.  Breakfast was good with fresh orange juice and many varieties like Parma ham

Everything about Lane Retreat was perfect—the place and scenery were absolutely beautiful, just as we expected. However, one thing felt a bit lacking. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and had paid $130 for the special preparation. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed to find just a few roses and a handwritten note, which didn’t quite meet our expectations. We had to make additional efforts to prepare for our special day ourselves. This is simply a recommendation: for special events, it would be wonderful to go the extra mile to ensure customers feel truly celebrated. That being said, Lane Retreat is an incredible place overall, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would still highly recommend it to others!

The time we arrived at the hotel is late, we find out the check in reception is at two hotels down the road, so we had to get back in the car driving there to check in, get the room key and drive back. As a driver from Canada which we drive on the opposite side of the road we find it's a little bit of inconvenient, especially in the dark. Other than that the room is very nice and clean.

Unfortunately this place is way over priced and well over run. You have to pay for everything on top of the already expensive room prices. Pool is old and kids area is in need of an upgrade. No sufficient shading in pool or kids area. We had a poor experience in our room, and much to the credit of staff, we were quickly upgraded to a bigger and better room. This was the saver for us, and made the stay worth it in the end. Staff are very friendly. Food was good in both restaurants, particularly downstairs at the bar. Ridges haven't really bothered doing any sufficient upgrades since Taking over.. The place feels old and outdated. Won't be going back.

Quiet and tucked away from the noisy touristy area. Nice gardens and view of the golf course just across the street. The breakfast didn't have many options. No warm foods. Cold cheese (one kind) and one kind of thinly sliced deli ham. No eggs, sausage, etc. The oat milk provided was out of date and I had to tell a staff member as they didn't know. Not worth $25/person for breakfast. I would only get it if it's already included. Pool is small so you can't swim laps. More of a pool for kids to hang out in. Air conditioning remote wasn't working properly. No Netflix on TV so bring your own HDMI and laptop if you want to watch something. Only basic cable. Overall a nice quiet hotel. Not fancy by any means but good sized room.

LLi Hoon CindyThe front counter staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. However, I was a bit disappointed with the housekeeping. The toilet didn’t seem to be cleaned properly, as there was a persistent urine smell. I also wasn’t sure if the bedsheets were changed, since I started feeling itchy after 2–3 nights.

TTTWWSThis is our second time staying at this hotel however the hotel room that they gave us was not the same as the photo and honestly it was quite disappointing as it was very small and not what you expect from a five star hotel. Due to the public holiday the occupancy levels are also very high which meant that the line for the breakfast was insane and we had to wait a long time to get our eggs ordered and delivered. They do have a pool however it is sent me door on the roof of the Building and honestly it is just too cold to swim otherwise the day was otherwise okay. We came back because our stayed the first time was quite good however I probably will not be returning as it has a very suboptimal location.

DDayDayHappyI had a very pleasant stay at YHA Sydney Central. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Angel (the Angel!) at the front desk with a BIG radiant smile. Her helpful orientation about the hostel and surrounding area especially the super convenient Central Station just across the road made settling in easy and stress-free. I also appreciated the clear signage in the hostel which made navigation simple and intuitive. I was thrilled to find the dual-monitor setups thoughtfully provided at every desk in the co-working space - something I have always desperately needed but never found in all of my travels across more than 20 countries. It was a huge bonus for me. I’d love to see it open beyond 11 pm. Given the area is well-secured with access card and CCTV, keeping it open 24/7 would be more user-friendly for those who struggle to focus during busy hours or for night owls working across different time zones. Another seemingly small but thoughtful touch that made a big difference was the steam iron and ironing board provided in the laundry room. They were exactly what I needed very much since my clothes often come out wrinkled after long hours packed in suitcases. I was also impressed by the detailed guidelines and the conveniently placed bins that encouraged timely, efficient and proper waste separation. In a world where environmental awareness is still lacking in many places, this served as a valuable education opportunity that travelers can learn from and take back to their own countries. It personally boosted my own environmental consciousness. I truly believe this is an excellent demonstration for travelers coming from different parts of the world. My room was comfortable with a high ceiling, a tall window and a spacious locker to an extent that even a 81 cm suitcase can fit in with no difficulty. The table and chairs inside fostered a friendly and communal atmosphere which is perfect for us to unwind and share interesting stores with fellow travelers. However, both my roommates and I found the room too cold at night and it seemed that there was no temperate control options such as heating or air-conditioning. Also, the traffic noise from outside was quite loud, even on the fifth floor, and it lasted all day until midnight. One area that really needs urgent attention is the Wi-Fi. During my brief two-day stay, the internet connection dropped frequently regardless where I was in the hostel, whether I was in my room, or on the kitchen floor, even at the front desk. A stable and reliable internet connection is essential for today’s travelers. To be honest, this was one of the most unstable, the slowest and weakest internet connections I have experienced in Australia. Thankfully, the internet connection was much better in the co-working space. Thank you again for the warm hospitality and for creating such a welcoming space for us. I hope this review is helpful. I genuinely appreciate the effort put into maintaining such a great environment.

GGuest UserMy first review on Trip and I don't usually bother to write reviews - shows you how much the hotel impressed me. We stayed for 1 night in Capella Sydney as a family of 3. The hotel facilities were absolutely amazing, decor was gorgeous and food options at Aperture and Brasserie were awesome. However, I won't dwell on these too much as I'm sure when you booked into a Capella brand hotel, you will already assume this as a given right? One highlight in terms of facilities though, was The Living Room, which is assessible to all guests staying in the hotel. It had beverages, snacks, comfy sofas and 6 star service. We spent so much time there chilling with our son and in the end it really became ”our living room”. Enough of that, let me move on to the service which blew our minds. I'll give you a few examples and hopefully you can see why I feel it would be criminal for me not to write a review. 1. On arrival when we got out of our car and the porters were helping us with our luggage, somehow they addressed me by name. Maybe it's because they saw I had a 2 year old and I was the only guest checking in that day with a small child. Still, I was super impressed. I've only experienced this previously at Aman hotels. 2. Upon checking in, Sophie (I hope I got your name right!) was super helpful and cheerful. When she saw my young son, she also proactively asked if we needed a later check out and if our son needed to nap. She immediately offered to give us 2pm late check out. However, having told her our son actually takes his nap at 2pm, she told us to come back and check with the front desk the next day and they can extend it till 4pm. Remember, I didn't request this, she did this completely out of her own initiative. 3. We didn't book dinner and Sophie referred us to Madiha of the Cultural team. Madiha took note of all our requirements, including the need for the restaurant to be 2 year old friendly, and within 15 mins emailed me a full list of restaurants and their menus for me to choose from while she also served us drinks and snacks at the living room. We eventually picked an Italian restaurant and she made the reservation for us. Fyi, it was scrumptious. 4. After breakfast, we were walking around the lobby and my son walked past the cakeshop and saw a raspberry tart. He really wanted it but I told him we just had breakfast. Ton (?)(I hope I got your name right, the Thai gentleman with a love for cars), the manager came up and said ”you can have the tart for free! It's on the house!”. I was stunned. He also spent so much time talking to my son and showing him pictures of cars, unbelievable. Shout out also to Matthew (uncle Hao Jun) for being so warm and hospitable to us. Honestly we were feeling so sad leaving the hotel as everyone felt like friends and family to us. One thing is for sure though, we will be back. Absolutely flawless service, kudos to the Capella Sydney team!

KKathhhLocation: Located in Haymarket, very close to Central Train Station and Haymarket Light Tram Station, there are bunch of restaurants and supermarkets (just within 3-10 mins walk) around the area which is very convenient for quick access to food, coffee/drinks and groceries. Reception: Reception is very welcoming and friendly, also they provide services like help collecting letters and packages, printing services (1 copy is free yet multiple copies charge $0.2 per page), coin exchange etc. There’s a great open area in front of the reception where you can find sofas and a long workstation available for people to rest and work, the design is also very good. Facilities: There’re a café (Roy’s Café), a bar/club (Side Bar) and a travel agency (Travel Up!) in the building, making my stay very accessible to all the things I need be it coffee or drinks or a travel advice. Kitchen: Kitchen is on the 1/F, it’s relatively spacious. There’re 2 huge fridges and a locker wall for us to store our food. There’re total 8 stoves, 4 sinks, 3-4 microwaves, 1 oven and 1 hot water tap where you can have boiling hot water right away. All utensils are provided so that’s very convenient. Overall the kitchen area has exceeded my expectations. Dorm area: My dorm is on the 4th floor, it’s relatively quiet. And because we’ll need our badges to access the elevator so the security is quite good as well. From the picture you can tell the dorm and hallway are clean enough, also the bathroom is very clean just I didn’t take a picture but it’s clean and comfortable. Also I love the interior design which made it looks aesthetic in a clean way. Just sometimes the dorm room might smells a little bit if your roommates bring in something smelly cuz you’re not able to open the window and the AC is not strong enough. Laundry: There’s also a laundry room each floor, 2 washing machines ($6 each wash, if you need laundry detergent from the reception that will be another $1) and 2 dryers ($4 each use) are equipped, they are big enough to consume a lot of clothes at once which is very good. It could get quite busy at night so I suggested to set an alarm when doing your laundry if you don’t want your clothes being taken out by others. Events: There are free / cheap events every day and every night, if you are a social person you’ll love it. All the volunteers and staff there are really welcoming and they will knock your door to give you invitations, I really love their enthusiasm! Been to wine and cheese night on a Wed night, vibes is good. So definitely recommend this hostel if you love meeting new people through events. After it’s definitely a great stay at Wake Up! Sydney Central and I’d recommend it to people who love a vibrant hostel environment like this.

GGuest UserGood location, heart of the CBD, easy to walk to the buzzy areas, also easy to get plenty of passive cigarette smoke right outside the hotel from those low-IQ anti-lung people. Museum [Train] Station is nearby which is good - 15min ride to domestic airport, bus stops nearby can take you to The Gap too. Room was spacious, functional, it's not Hilton but no complaints, cleaning staff are polite and accommodating. No toothbrush or extra soap bars but they were very kind to provide it all when requested — even at 22:00. All staff were friendly, nothing but good vibes, except the Aussie high school girl who checked us in at reception on Friday evening. She was vacant in the brain department, seemed confused about being awake and conversing at the same time. Didn't tell us where breakfast would be (but i can follow my nose), what time it ends (i eat early anyway, so was ok), where the gym is etc. When asked, she said you get discounts on drinks at 'Cidery', although that's not the breakfast place, and i don't drink anyway but she wouldn't know that because she didn't appear to be a fan of knowledge or Q&A. All she said was ”Breakfast is at 'Ember' ” — clearly i'm supposed to know this world famous restaurant named after a dying fire, what floor it's on and which TV show the chef was on. I brilliantly figured out it's 'Amber', it is across the lounge from reception on the same level, which is one level above the entrance on Pitt Street, and i should've spotted it by turning around and checking all the angles, so my bad. There is no TV show chef but the buffet is quite good, as is the machine coffee (which is also nice and hot), so you don't need to order cappuccinos which is an extra charge (If you're new to Aus, note that all cappuccinos/lattes are at least AUD 5.00 and the service is always good, partly because they're having a laugh about selling you mostly warm milk at $5 a mug. Also coffees are never hot enough no matter how many times you say 'extra hot please' because according to law, only the weather is allowed to go above 33 degrees Celsius). Don't know if the hotel had wifi, because Reception-Girl-With-Plastic-Smile never mentioned it (It's ok, my mobile data is unlimited). The only useful thing she told us was the hotel is working on building a swimming pool someday. My wife said I must've met girls like her at Cornell except for the fact that i didn't. Overall i recommend Rydges (and also Hilton), although I prefer the correct spelling of ”ridge”.

BBriFkidVery cleaned room and nice helpers. Near Macquarie Centre and metro, easy to go everywhere and shopping anytime. Nice laundry room and the fitness room. But the choice of breakfast provided by the hotel is very limited, still tastes good. We stayed for 7 nights and everything went well. This place is highly recommended. You can find many chargers in the room. Good privacy and quiet space.

EEdwina__The hotel room is just a 5-minute walk from the bustling downtown area and 10 minutes to attractions like the city hall. The bus stop is about 5 minutes away, making the location very convenient! The hotel room is very comfortable and spacious, with a large balcony and even a kitchen. I will definitely stay here again next time!

MmiSs JMWe stayed at Pullman Hyde Park in Sydney during Christmas holiday and while the location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city with easy access to attractions and dining, the hotel itself feels a bit outdated. The building could definitely use some updates to match the price point. We had an issue with the toilet seat, which was oddly positioned and wasn’t able to pull it up and made it uncomfortable for my husband to use. Not a major deal-breaker, but definitely a bit inconvenient. Another downside was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. We could hear a lot of noise from the hallway and other rooms, which made it hard to get a good night's sleep. The jacuzzi was quite small, much smaller than expected, but on a positive note, the rooftop pool was a highlight. The view of Hyde Park and the surrounding skyline was absolutely stunning—definitely the best part of the stay. Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re looking for a central location, but for the price, I was hoping for a bit more in terms of room quality and amenities.
