Dunkeld House Hotel

This venue is really a hidden gem up to a point , the Chef and kitchen ( paticularly the Haddock and Poached Eggs at Breakfast which is Michelin Star level ) the spa and swimming pool are kept to a good standard of hygene , however there is a serious problem with service which is evident from the staff behind the bar ( Saturday 4th May to be specific ) where it was plainly evident for all of the guests seated in the lounge to witness the grief that was being given to the Restaurant Host and other waiting staff by the two individulas behind the bar who were making their life's a misery by poor attitude and unhelpfulness when rightfully they were chasing restaurant drink orders which were painfully slow on deliverance attributed totally to the ineptness of the bar staff . Its about time that Providence Hotels boss Mr Neil Hughes and Blantyre Capital and Fairtree Alternative Real Estate were made aware of this as it is not fair on the efforts made by the other staff who are being dragged down needlessly by the bar staffs under performance , ineptness and demeanour .
Fisher's Hotel

Booked a 2 night B&B stay in Superior King Room for birthday treat, £369. I enquired about disabled parking, was advised this was available but on a 1st come terms. Arrived and negotiated the car around a small badly laid out car park, with no designated disabled spaces. Had to leave and find on street parking. Enquired about this on arrival at reception, before reception could even answer me a nippy sweetie woman appeared like Mr Ben, to tell 'disabled customers don't like the car park as its on a slope and they can't safely get into their wheelchairs! Will the days of thinking it's only wheelchair users that are disabled ever end!? Stayed in room 105, with Hobbit Door. My partner had to duck everytime we went through it. Room was large but very dated and tired looking, we spent our stay listening to children race down the hall, our wardrobe shook and moved everytime. Room overlooked the busy noisy main road. One bed light and table lamp didn't work, 3 upholstered chairs were stained, dirty and in need of a vacuum, one was particularly dusty. On booking I requested a walk in showroom due to the reduced mobility, the bathroom had a bath with static shower head however it was a low bath with a good solid handrail. However there was a chip out of the bath which was rough to touch, huge chip out of the cistern. The shower non slip mat was filthy underneath, the sucker pads were ingrained with unknown muck and dirt, I'd hate to try to imagine what the dirt was. Shower head was very low, my partner couldn't fit under it, I'm a foot shorter than him and even I knocked my hands off the shower head when washing my hair. Good quality towels robes and shower shoes though and very hot radiator on the wall. Only one toilet roll for a two night stay. We had to ask for more. Breakfast quality, quantity and service was good. Fedback our views on comment card and to receptionist who presented as couldn't have cared less. For the price it was all poor value and quality, afraid Fishers may be still riding on former glory but there's a lot of competition for stays in Pitlochry now which highlights Fishers tiredness, jaded attitude and severe need for a major overhalll and modernisation. Nor sure where the photos submitted to TripAdvisor are from bur they are unidentifiable to our stay. Would not recommend for cost.
The Parklands Hotel

We booked to stay here overnight due to the hotels location to the station, although we did drive up to Scotland in the end. The hotel is set back off the main road which leads to a peaceful nights sleep. Our room was very spacious with a high ceiling, the bathroom was modern with a specious walk in shower. We opted to eat in the restaurant as we arrived in the dark and didn’t know where else to go in the city. The food was lovely and although we went into the city for breakfast, Im sure that is also very good. The staff member that we encountered doubled up as waitress and bar tender, I didn’t get her name but she is a wonderful, friendly lady and a credit to the hotel. If you are staying in Perth for any reason,I can recommend this hotel.
The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

A lovely hotel in a quiet setting. Bar service was a bit slow but available most times during the day. Food service was ok. Breakfast was good… wide variety… although fruit could have been fresher, ( apple was brown). Dinner at night was ok. Entertainer was good, enjoyed his music and cheerfulness. Difficult to get a taxi on the day we left and was pouring with rain. Staff were really helpful and took us to the train for which we were really grateful! I suggest booking a cab the day before. Our room was comfortable and a good size. However the bathroom window curtains need attention. A shower curtain pinned up with press studs wasn’t appropriate for security and privacy! We would stay again.

The Old Manse of Blair, Boutique Hotel & Restaurant
4.2/529 Reviews
Old Manse proprietors Anne and Archie and their team recently provided our group of friends with the most wonderful experience and a lifetime of memories. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome by Anne, Archie, GM Andi and their staff most of whom introduced themselves. Their attention to detail was immediately apparent with the gardens, rooms and property in exquisite condition. The rooms have all been recently renovated with comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms and fittings. There are walking/running paths all over, with a scenic 2 mile path to Blair Castle and a short .7 mi to House of Bruar shops with Bruar Falls hike right behind the shops. We also took advantage of nearby mountain biking, ziplining and bungee jumping. But the highlight of our stay was a Highland Games event that Anne and her team helped coordinate right on the grounds with fun and friendly competition, pipes and a falconry demonstration (check out their IG page). Due to our group size breakfasts were buffet style. We had 2 dinners in the Orangery Restaurant and a BBQ outdoors and all meals were great. Hats off to chef Tom, Tony, Brian and the whole kitchen. Rory and Lucca are great mixologists and allowed us extra time for fellowship a little beyond their typical closing time. Uber and cab service isn't reliable in the area so we got a couple of rental cars. With the strict DUI laws in Scotland (.05% bac), it's not suggested you drive even after 1 drink esp. if you don't normally drive on the left. For an additional charge and prearranged times, Anne, Archie and Andi provided transportation to the group to and from Pitlochry which gave everyone good peace of mind. During our 4 day stay we were absolutely blown away by the level of service, professionalism and fun that was provided. The team that is currently in place is world class from the owners Anne and Archie to GM Andi and all staff. In this tough hiring environment especially in a less populated area, the Old Manse has really nailed it with a team that works well together and has fun while doing it. Whether it's a quiet weekend getaway for a couple or a reunion group of 40, the Old Manse is a great place for your Highland stay.
Loch Rannoch Hotel and Estate
4.1/582 Reviews
A fantastic two days away made special by the absolutely wonderful staff from check in, to the spa to bar and wait staff. We had a wonderful first wedding anniversary meal at the Estate Room. The meal was excellent but what made our night was being served by Zeni/Fernando. He made great recommendations for both food and wine. The goats cheese starter was absolutely amazing. The venison loin was wonderfully cooked. Views of course are excellent; from the loch to schiehallion.
Fonab Castle Hotel
4.6/5103 Reviews
This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be our last. Everything about our one night stay was perfect. The castle room was so comfortable, the spa was a delight and the Sandeman restaurant was a treat. The staff were beyond helpful and the surroundings were breathtaking. A very special stay in a special hotel.
Holiday Inn Express Perth
4.3/5106 Reviews
Overview The hotel is at a good location in Perth and has plenty of car parking spaces. There is also number plate recognition so you don’t need to pay or have a ticket to get inside the car park or outside. Entrance is a little tucked away and next to Beefeater but a few mins drive to mains shops. The hotel is not really walking distance to any nearby shops hence use of a car or public transport is key. Check in and Check out. Check in when booking and on the original email was 2PM but was changed to 4PM and this was without any notification. When challenged at reception the response was owners have changed hence check in timings have changed as well. Room was luckily available at 3:15PM only to be told the lifts were out of order and would not be fixed for 2 weeks so we had to lug all the luggage via stairs to the 4th floor. The latest you can check out is 12:00, but we got to check out at 14:00 upon request. It was impossible to get a late checkout until multiple email requests were made to reception who grudgingly agreed in the end. When checking out , you can still use the ground floor toilets and request luggage to be stored in the reception area if needed. Our Room and breakfast. There were rooms on the ground floor but reserved only for wheelchair users. We had a family room which had one double bed and a sofa bed. A flat screen TV. There were some storage spaces – typical which one would get at a HIE room as in few hanging spaces and some shelves. There was a kettle provided and provisions available for tea and coffee. The bathroom was very small but clean with a basin, WC and shower cubicle. Towels provided for all of us. A fan was provided which was much needed especially as the window could only be opened a tiny bit. The breakfast was good and there were some options of cereal, scramble eggs, and a toast machine. They even provide vegetarian sausages that take 15-20 minutes to prepare on request. There were also cakes and croissants and a good coffee machine. An adjacent conference room was opened as an overflow which is great because the actual breakfast room is small and gets really busy. Location The location of this hotel is around 5-7 min drive from shops and restaurants. Many commercial car dealers in the area but McDonalds and Tim Horton's are a short drive away.
Royal Dunkeld Hotel

The hotel is on the main street of Dunkeld but my room window was to the internal yard with hotel parking. Very calm location. Good size room. Very large screen TV set with Netflix. Great choice for breakfast with large portions. Very polite and helpful hotel staff.
