The service was excellent. Although the car wasn't brand new, it performed flawlessly. I stayed at the Washington Hotel near Kansai Airport. I arranged an appointment with the staff via Line in Chinese, and they delivered the car to the hotel on time. All I had to do was tap and take a photo of the Japanese translation and my passport. They also returned the car to the hotel on time. They weren't fussy about the car's condition (which is especially true with older cars). They checked it out and said it was fine, and drove away. This time, I rented a Toyota Aqua, which fit two adults and a child perfectly. The trunk held two 28-inch and one 20-inch wheels, which was perfectly adequate. It's incredibly fuel-efficient. I drove from Kumano and Wakayama to Koka, Lake Biwa, Nara, and Osaka, and only refueled once after 400-500 kilometers. It truly is the most fuel-efficient hybrid car. I originally wanted to rent a larger car like the Voxy Noah, thinking it would be more comfortable for such a low price. Fortunately, I rented a smaller car. In Nara's traditional streets, two-way streets are even smaller than the one-way alleys of Yonghe. This car's tight turning radius made parking easy, and it also gave me peace of mind on highways where lanes are much narrower than in Taiwan. I've included a photo of the temple gate. We parked and drove through, and this car, with the rearview mirror retracted, fit in perfectly. A larger car would have been a disaster. Best of all, it was incredibly affordable. With comprehensive insurance, it was only NT$1,000 a day, cheaper than in Taiwan. The service was excellent, and it was a real steal. I'll definitely rent a car with this company again.
