I was charged for an additional 288 Swiss FR for “additional guest”. when I checked out. only because I did not put My Son’s name when I did the booking, but I booked a twin room and my son naturally stay with me. not to mention he’s my 13 year old son. they can charge me for additional breakfast. That’s totally OK. but additional person for twin room?really? And Main thing I was not told I will be charged when I checked in. That is not fair I will reflect this to Swiss tourism office.
Btw. The staff are 100% good. Very friendly but I am sickened by the strange policy.
It was excellent! I have very good memories. Spacious single room. Very close to the center.
The welcome drink. Discount for hotel guests in their restaurant.
The plancha on silver ingot amused me.
There is no doubt that I will stay at the W Hotel again when I come to the Verbier Music Festival next year. Breakfast is something I will miss even if I live in other cities during my time in Switzerland. Very delicious. The surrounding environment of w hotel is even more intoxicating. It is very convenient to just go to the cable car. The scenery outside the room window is like a fairyland. The hotel waiters are all smiling and enthusiastic. There are free pick-up and drop-off services at the hotel when you go to nearby places. When I encountered travel and transportation problems, the front desk staff were really enthusiastic and perfect in helping me solve many problems. It was such a great stay that I could only come back again. Ha ha
Thanks to the staff for upgrading the room for us, we can enjoy the beautiful view of Matterhorn from the terrace, which is very happy.
The room is spacious, has a self-service dining area, and is fully equipped with stoves and cooking utensils. It is very suitable for skiers. The bathroom is very clean, there is a bathtub for soaking, and there is also a public swimming pool and spa. It's a pity that I didn't check-in earlier. I must come earlier next time to enjoy it.
The location is excellent, only 4 minutes away from the train station, and it's easy to walk with your suitcase. It is walking distance from Gornergrat and Sunnegga stations, and there is a bus stop at the door to the Metterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car station.
Breakfast is very rich and delicious.
This stay is really worth the money👍🏼
A pleasant and clean room. Suggestive and comfortable outdoor pool. nice game room. Tasteful restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. To return safely
The hotel is not average, the hygiene, environment, facilities and services are all good. The hotel is located on a mountain and has a good view of the air. The service was impeccable. We drove there by ourselves and gave the car keys to the waiter. Our luggage was delivered directly to the room. The car was parked for us and the hotel kept the keys for us. The front desk of the hotel helped upgrade the room, and the bathroom in the room has a steam room. The breakfast in the hotel is also quite good. I’ll come back next time if I have the chance.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay.
Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable.
Very near the zermatt train station, just opposite of Macdonald’s.
Breakfast had a good selection.
Housekeeping would check in on you and offer free chocolates.
The only feedback I have is the room didn’t provide English instructions on how to dial the concierge so I had to walk down to request for items.
The room is very big, on the top floor, and has no balcony. (There are balconies on the lower floors, but the hotel says they are higher-class rooms.) We asked to change to a room with a balcony, and we were shown a balcony room in the annex building, which was obviously much smaller and had a bad view, so we stayed in the original large room on the top floor of the main building. After living there, we found that it didn't matter whether there was a balcony or not. A large room was better, and the luggage could be spread everywhere, and you could see the panoramic view of the Matterhorn with a very good view by opening the window. The front desk was very patient with me, and the other front desk staff were also very friendly. The concierge was very professional and provided suggestions for various routes every day. We improved the daily route according to her suggestions, which was very accurate. The best thing was the open-air bathing pool, with a water temperature of 36 degrees, and the Matterhorn was right above our heads. In addition, the hotel has a free shuttle bus parked outside the station, which can be picked up at any time when you arrive, which is very convenient.
Room condition was very awake and good
Bedding and mattress were good too
It's a modern and tidy hotel
The parking lot was good and the outside parking lot but from the parking lot to the hotel
The moving line is very good
The design is pretty from the entrance of the hotel to the rest area in the lobby.
Everything is good The downside is that the elevator space is a bit small
This hotel is great, but it was a very good impression during my trip to Switzerland.
The front desk staff and breakfast room staff were friendly and the food was delicious
Unfortunately, it's a hotel that will be remembered for a long time because it's sad to leave the baby ointment.
Very Good

MMGreat location with matterhorn view & 15min walking distance from the train station / museum etc. The attached photo of the (cloudy) matterhorn is taken from their cafeteria. Staff understandably busy such as at check-in timing, but are otherwise understanding and helpful. Fridge & kettle for shared use at cafeteria. Lockers available to store baggage without cost - but do have $2 coin on hand for locker deposit!
GGuest UserExcellent! 2 nights stayed in hotel parnass. We have booked a room with Matterhorn view .. unfortunately , not able to see it due to the bad weather snow fall persists.
GGuest UserI wish to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel Bistrols from Dec 16 to Dec 17.
During my stay, I experienced an incident that left me quite unsettled. Around 20 mins after my check-in to the hotel, another group of tourists (think was a couple) was able to use hotel access card to access my room, we, both parties are shocked and super embarrassed. This situation raised significant concerns about the security protocols in place at the hotel. As a guest, I expect a certain level of safety. If the room was accidentally opened without my presence, I am not sure whether my belongings are going to disappear, this situation made me had just a light sleep throughout the whole stay.
The lack of adequate security measures not only compromised my sense of safety but also made me question the overall management of the hotel. In an age where guest security is paramount, I believe that Hotel Bistrols should prioritize ensuring that all rooms are properly secured and that guests feel safe throughout their stay.
A point to add is that the receptionist has poor attitude towards her service. The whole experience which I would not consider to give this hotel another try in future.
I hope that the hotel will take my concerns seriously and address these issues for future guests.
IIzzaPizzaThoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.
GGuest UserThe Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.
HHong AVery amazed by the level of automation in the hotel! Check-in was seamless even though it was just an iPad. We needed to pay a tourist tax via an online link prior to arrival but we were abit wary given the number of online scams nowadays - perhaps it’ll be better to charge everything up front?
There was free coffee available as well, which was a huge plus. The room was amazing, spotlessly clean, sufficiently big, had a balcony, comfortable bed. One of the staff (a guy) allowed us to put our luggage in the room early even though we could only encode our card after 3pm. He even helped us make a reservation at Du Pont as we didn’t have a Swiss number, thanks very much!
The hotel is a 10min walk from the main train station, though there are free buses which can shorten the journey. We just walked as it was faster.
We were in Swiss for 2 weeks and this hotel is definitely the best accommodation we had - for a very good price as well!
SSmhnI wish I was writing a glowing review for this hotel but I simply cannot as I find it inexcusable that in this day and age there was no complimentary tea/Coffee or even a kettle in the room. Secondly the breakfast was an absolute joke. Boiled eggs and slices of meat with cold bread. Utterly diaspoointing for the cost. The room itself was good and warm but had paper thin walls. I could hear every conversation in the other room and the snoring guests at night. Won't be staying again.
HHarmonickFor a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserPleasantly surprised by how big the room was! A rarity in Switzerland for sure. Modern furnishings a plus! Lovely surprise balcony with a sideways view of the town, nice to sit outside to unwind at the end of the long day. Bathroom was rather lacking in character compared to the room and bath tub/screen was quite inconvenient. But basic amenities are there, two sinks + separate WC were appreciated. Breakfast was average, adequate but not great spread. No swimming pool, bare gym, uninspiring suana area for a 4* hotel so manage your expectations accordingly. Location very close to train station (5 mins), off a quiet corner, complimentary luggage shuttle would be nice instead of charging CHF12 for what is literally a 1 minute ride in a buggy.
MMotofumiMy stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience!
The hotel was priced at 500 euros per night for my room...
Personally, I thought it was well worth it!
This is because
(1) A light course dinner is included
(2) Breakfast buffet is included
(3) It costs 60 euros round trip & takes about 1.5 hours to climb up here, so you can't get up and down so much and you don't know the weather on the mountain.
The mountain railroad ends at 20:00 at night, so from then until morning, the top of the mountain will be monopolized by hotel guests.
So, considering all these factors, I thought it was rather a good deal.
In fact, I was able to capture the cloudless Matterhorn on my way home after checking out at the very end!
So I recommend this hotel
