Yauheniya Satsura🏡 Modest but Convenient Hotel Near the Beach
We stayed at this hotel in Pangkor, and overall, our experience was positive.
- 📍 **Location:** It's super close to the beach and the main street with cafes and shops – you really couldn't ask for a better spot.
- 🏠 **Accommodation Style:** The hotel is made up of small bungalows, each with its own entrance. Most have a little terrace with a table. It's all very simple, but clean and pleasant.
- 🛏️ **Amenities:** The bedding was clean, there was always hot water, and the air conditioners were powerful. The towels, however, are quite worn out and could use replacing.
- 🏊 **Pool:** There is a pool, but it looked a bit gloomy, so we didn't use it.
- 👥 **Staff:** The owners are polite and friendly. No deposit is required. There's a front desk, but it's not open 24/7, which is something to keep in mind if you're checking in late.
📌 **Bottom Line:** A simple yet tidy hotel with an excellent location. It's suitable for those looking for affordable accommodation by the sea without extravagant expectations. We were happy with our stay.

Guest UserPleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the top 12th floor! This floor offers exclusive complimentary afternoon tea with both sweet and savory treats, accompanied by local coffee. Unfortunately, we were out all day and missed it. We also didn't get to experience the infinity pool on the 13th floor. The hotel is centrally located, connected to a large shopping mall, and you can easily walk to popular attractions in the old town like Mural Street and Concubine Lane. It was very convenient to walk back in the evening, and there are plenty of authentic local eateries nearby, offering a lively atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable, and being on a high floor, it was quiet. Service was prompt, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. If you're visiting Ipoh and want a comfortable stay while easily exploring the sights, I highly recommend this place! 🏙️☕ Great value for money 👍

GarfieldtangMy second stay in this excellent suite. A warm welcoming from the receptionist, five lifts for convenience. Very clean, spacious living/dining room, fully equipped with three air conditioners, three fans, a bathtub, L-shaped couch, a fridge, a washing machine, hairdryer, toiletries, iron, ironing board, kettle, drinking water and coffee/tea sachets. Nice city view from the balcony. Free and guarded parking lot at the basement. The bonus point was walking distance to Parkson, eateries, bars, reflexology, laundry shop, bank, city council and Greentown business centre. Therefore, I strongly recommend to all travellers in Ipoh.

CGSOHIt was a pleasant stay overall.. except that the hand basin was clogged, the traffic noise from the adjacent main roads was a bit too much to bear at times, especially for those light sleepers. There was one early morning that we were abruptly waken up at about 6:30am by the heavy and persistent cigarette smoke from the centralised air conditioning system. With this, we asked for a room changed and the reception was responsive and willing to accommodate to our request.

Anonymous UserGreat place for a family with kids, with easy access to the beach. However, cleanliness of the room, corridor and swimming pool could be improved. The water in adult swimming pool was quite cloudy with poor visibility, and there were visible particles and unknwn debris floating inside.Breakfast is average, with moderate spread and choices. Check in queue on Saturday although we arrive at 3 pm. Overall is still a great place to stay and I love this resort.

The location is convenient, it is easy to find food, the room is also very clean, but the bathroom has a strange smell from time to time, so the bathroom door is closed for a long time.

Nu ZorollahIt was like stepping into haven! The modern colonial decor won me the most. The unit is spacious with rooms made neatly. The toilet and bathroom though quite small, they’re clean. The kitchen unit is complete with utensils, pans, microwave and induction hob for when you choose to prepare simple dishes for your family. Easy navigation to the parking lot. We stayed there for 2 nights and got the chance to hang out at the pool and the beautiful garden. We’ve been to many hotels in Ipoh but this by far was the best in our record. Kudos!

MikeLimMyHotel Regal Vista is a well-located, budget-friendly hotel — strong on location and value, but showing its age in terms of interior polish. Here's a professional traveler's take.
The hotel sits on Jalan Veerasamy, roughly 0.78 km from Ipoh Old Town, just a 6-minute walk to Memory Lane Market and only 331 metres from Ipoh Parade shopping centre, with the historic Ipoh Railway Station about 1.6 km away.
It's centrally placed and easy to navigate on foot or by Grab, making it a solid base for exploring the Old Town's murals, cafés, and street food scene.
Easy access to public transport and nearby eateries, with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and convenient parking
Secure 24-hour car park nearby, plus proximity to the pedestrian street, KFC, etc.
A short stroll to the Kinta River walk (popular with early-morning joggers), decent breakfast, and spacious rooms
Staff are consistently described as helpful, and value for money is a recurring theme
It's best described as a reliable ”safe choice” — good on location, cleanliness, and price, but the interior is dated with no boutique or modern feel, amenities are basic, and sound insulation is only average (some guests report hearing motorbikes from the street below)
- A minority of reviews flagged isolated cleanliness lapses, such as a clogged sink causing odour — not systemic, but worth checking room reviews before booking
- Not the pick for travellers chasing a design-forward or resort-style stay
Travelers Tips💐
For backpackers, business travellers on short stays, or anyone prioritising proximity to Old Town's food and heritage sites, this hotel is hard to beat on location and price. If ambience, soundproofing, or a boutique aesthetic matter more to you, it's worth comparing against Old Town's design-led guesthouses (think Sekeping-style properties or mural-district boutique inns) instead.
Either way, I'd recommend checking recent room-specific reviews before booking, and avoiding street-facing or lower-floor rooms if noise sensitivity is a concern.
