The owner is an old grandmother, and there should be her daughter, right? Very kind, dinner and breakfast are very careful and delicious. Although the facilities are a bit old, you can see the glory of the past.
Living in the forest, there is a stream next to it, it feels wonderful.
(I don’t know where the old man in the sign went...)

We stayed here for a three-generation family trip over the three-day weekend in November.
All the nearby inns were expensive, so we had almost given up on family trips, but this one was very reasonably priced and we were able to relax in a spacious, stylish room, so we were very satisfied.
For meals, we could get by with the nearby supermarket (Daiyu) and delicious bakery, and the bath at the nearby Shika no Yu (which came with a 100 yen discount coupon) was also great!
It was so comfortable that I think I'll look for Rakuten STAY VILLA hotels near my next family trip.

宿(部屋)にミニ冷蔵庫はありません。夕食のお料理は量が多いのでお肉か魚メインどちらか好きな方を選択出来ると特別感が出るかなと思いました。味は美味しかったです。お風呂は空いてる時だとゆっくりはいれます。

GGuest UserThe guesthouse is quite a way from Nikko town (10-15 mins by bus / 1 hour walk) but is in a good location for getting to the shrines or to Lake Ashi - there's a bus stop close by. The guesthouse was homely and had 2 private onsen. Our room was comfortable enough although the en-suite was very tiny! The host was welcoming but didn't speak any English which meant we had to communicate by translating on our phones. We booked to have breakfast at the guesthouse, but didn't realise that for booking the dinner we needed to give 24 hours+ notice so missed out!

ННаталья nach_nThe hotel is located far from the station and I had to walk uphill in the heat with my luggage, I sent a request to the hotel to pick up my luggage twice, but never received the service, I got to the hotel, the owner took my passport, I filled out the paper, then they just told me check-in after 15.00, they didn’t offer to leave my luggage, sit down from the road, wait, for a second I’m already over 50 years old, not a girl, I stood near the entrance until I asked “can I leave my luggage before check-in, to which the owner waved his hand at me and that's all. When I arrived at the hotel after 15.00, the hostess appeared and again asked for a passport, I said that her husband had already registered me, no smile, no greeting, nothing, this is the attitude towards Russians, why such discrimination? I come to you, pay you money, not for a hostel, but for a normal room, just to sleep, and this is the attitude. After Tokyo, I was generally in shock, of course, I didn’t expect it, I came to spend my birthday in Nikko, I thought I’d stay in a family hotel, but here this attitude is a huge minus. I do not recommend this family business☹️😡

AavlatkaIt is far from Tobu Niko station and relatively close to the main attractions. Of the pluses, two private onsens can be accommodated in two or three. One is laid out with a tile, the other is stone (used by a great demand, understandable case). If you take the onsen, no one will enter it anymore. To let the guests know whether the onsen is free and which special signal lamps are made, it is convenient. The Onsens work from 16 to 23 hours, so it is impossible to get down in the morning. Like I think, the water is cold and the rooms are closed - I love outdoors.
The breakfast was unexpected, but they are fed exclusively with different baking (for a long time, so many tests have not eaten). It is also possible to buy frozen dishes for cheap and immediately distribute them in a microwave.
In the bathroom and toilet room, the yucata is issued on demand.
A beautiful living room where you can sit in the evening (if not too many guests). Here, where to sit in the street evening, it is not very clear, because near the Onsens there is a smoke zone with shops, but there is not a very nice smell.

GGuest UserThere are too few reviews of small Japanese homestays. Every time an order is placed, it is like opening a blind box. After opening this one, it is informational and highly recommended. The sanitary conditions and hot spring facilities meet expectations. The biggest surprise is the location. It is actually located at the door of the niche and unique regretful Yuan. Put down your luggage. One person went to the empty attraction and walked around quickly. The sound of running water was in his ears. In front of him was a row of different-looking sitting on the ground. Bodhisattva, Quite mysterious experience. Going to the station, a bit inconvenient, take a taxi back and forth, the price is acceptable, about 1,500 yen a way.

GGuest UserWe had a great stay with Yoshiko-san. She was warm and friendly and gave us great tips and recommendations. The house is very conveniently located near the major temples, Kanmangafuchi abyss, and the bus route. The house was also very comfortable, a taste of real Japanese living!

JJoboboWe spent three wonderful nights here. The host is very kind and attentive, cooks an excellent breakfast (which he can make vegetarian if needed), and offers a shuttle service to the city center included in the reservation.
The rooms are very clean, spacious, and well-equipped.
To top it all off, you can even enjoy one of the many private hot tubs.
In short, I would have gladly given it a sixth star if I could!

Ttolyazek@mail.ruEverything was great! We lived here for three days in April 2024. The hosts are very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty and large, so during the day we didn’t even want to have lunch while walking. Everything in the room is clean and tidy. The place is quiet and beautiful. Nearby there is a large supermarket with everything you need. The bus stop to the waterfalls and lake is also very close. There is also a public onsen nearby, we had a good time there too. In general, we really liked everything! Thank you!
