Hostal Yoha

I stayed in a single room, it's micro, very small and without window, but the bed is comfortable and there's air conditioning in the room, including breakfast, simple but tasty. The hotel has a great swimming pool, wonderful for the very hot end of the afternoon, the area is excellent, close to the metro and bus point at av. Balboa (coastal belt). I arrived at 7 a.m. and they didn't release earlu check-in anyway, everyone waited up to 14 hours (2pm) there is no malery. But they received the bag while we can wait for the entrance. I met many people there, it was great! If I come back to Panama, I'll stay there again.
Panama House Bed & Breakfast

Panama House was exactly what I was looking for during my 24hr layover in Panama City. I rented a single private room, though dorm rooms and larger private rooms were available. The very kind woman (I’m terrible with names, or else I would name her) who operates the B&B with her family was extremely helpful to me as I was not well prepared in planning or preparation for my layover. My flight arrived late in the evening and customs took forever, but I called and the woman confirmed I could arrive anytime and assured my check-in would not be troublesome. Luggage lockers were not available in Terminal 2 of PTY, but Panama House very kindly allowed me to leave my bags safely in the B&B while I went out and traveled. I also needed help decided what to do in my short time, and i was on a budget, so the woman at Panama House made recommendations on affordable sightseeing and the best means to get there. Check-out is at noon which was great because I went and hiked in the Metropolitan Natural Park and ate lunch before I had to Uber back to check out. The location of the B&B is great because it is not in the super highfalutin part of town where traffic is a mess, and it centrally located where an uber could get to all the major sights in the same amount of time (Metropolitan Park, Old Panama, Casco Viejo, etc).I wish my layover and time in Panama was longer so I could explore more of the city and experience the great amenities of Panama House including the game room, exercise equipment, outdoor lounge area (cover and uncovered), BIRDS, etc.

The Balboa Inn
4.2/539 Reviews
After reading multiple reviews we decided to book the Balboa Inn for a one night's stay before flying to Bocas Del Toro from Albrook Airport. There was nothing to suspect that the place we were booking was anything out of the ordinary small hotel. However, as our Uber drove through an obvious housing subdivision we wondered what we were in store for! We eventually realised that the ”inn” was half of a duplex house! OK, no problem, it's only for one night after all. We were greeted by William at the front desk - very friendly and showed us to our room. Upstairs with two heavy suitcases wasn't fun, but okay. Our room (I had requested a Queen sized bed) was very plain but clean. We had a queen bed plus a single. The bed was comfortable but dressed only in a bottom and top sheet - the air conditioning sounded like a plane taking off, but it was too hot not to have it on overnight. There is a lovely small pool in the garden area which was refreshing. The room was not particularly sound proof but we slept reasonably well. We walked to a nearby restaurant (more of a bar and grill) for dinner which was delicious (Balboa Food Court). My rating of 3* was more about the facilities and the quality of the premises than anything - good value for the money and good location for ease of access to Albrook Mall and airport but you can do better in town.
