Our family of six stayed a the Capsule Hotel - Alpine Garden Zurich Airport to have a few hours to sleep comfortably between two connecting flight with an overnight layover. The Capsule Hotel is right at the airport in Zurich, easy to find, to access, to check in and out even at late or very early hours - everything is automated, so no personal contact is needed. When booking I could add that I would like the capsules to be adjacent to each other and received an email that that will be taken care of. So it was. The capsules were super clean, quite spacious (our cabin luggage fit in conveniently) and nicely set up, lighting was warm and for my taste perfect. It said that the air in the cabin is being exchanged 22 times a day, so the feel should be like the window in a room is always open. I had a quite good night. My husband and one of my kids felt like there was not enough oxygen in the capsule despite the air exchange. Obviously, we could hear the guest of the other capsules (altogether 26 in that room) come and go even though everyone tried to be as quiet as possible, but that was acceptable, given the fact that the capsule hotel concept includes coming and going whenever the respective flights arrive/depart. If you get an upper capsule you'll have to do a bit of an exercise to get up and down, but that's not so bad after all. 😉
Access to the capsules is via code that will be sent to you after check-in and is also access to the room where your block of capsules are in. There is a women and men bathroom, each set up nicely, with separate shower and changing cabins, a pile of floor mats to use, toilets, basins, mirrors - all was clean and looked very natural with a lot of wood being used for decorating/building. Altogether, I great concept, a convenient stay, I'm very glad that we could try it out! The next morning, we were at our check-in in no time - seriously cool!
Self check-in. There is a phone number on the door, which requires English communication, which is a bit difficult. Tell you the two passwords of the door and the room before entering the door. Two rooms in an apartment, the same as the promotional materials. Very simple. There are beds and bed sheets. But the public bathroom hot water is very good. 4 people room, I live alone, quiet. In the middle of the night, two snoring came next door.
very affordable and convenient hostel in Zurich, located just 20-minute tram or bus ride from Zurich HB. I suggest getting a 24-hour zone bus ticket for easy travel. There’s a supermarket nearby, and the closest train station is about an 8-minute walk away. The rooms are basic, I appreciated having sinks in the room. The only downside is the lack of a fan or AC, which can make the room feel stuffy. Additionally, you need to return the bed sheets at check-out, and renting a towel costs 3 CHF each.
I checked in in advance and was able to use the facility without any problems.
The only disappointing thing was that there was a festival going on so it was lively until late at night.
I also felt that there were not enough toilets and showers for the number of people there.
However, I thought it was kind of them to let me use towels for free.
In order to avoid the Zurich price, I stayed in Winterthur for two nights. Anyway, there is a Swiss Pass, which is fast and punctual and connects to tight trains. One bed in the 300 RMB Hostel is the cheapest. Near the railway station, next to the track, opposite to the Industrial College, the house may be a warehouse or factory remodeled, with high windows at the bottom of the building, bright and comfortable. There are not many shops nearby, it feels like a restaurant and bar, and there is a coop after more than 10 minutes' walk.
With a stay at Anita Hostel in Zürich (Old Town Zürich), you'll be a 1-minute drive from Bahnhofstrasse and 6 minutes from Zoo Zurich. This hostel is 2.8 mi (4.5 km) from Letzigrund Stadium and 3.9 mi (6.2 km) from Hallenstadion.
The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Make yourself at home in one of the 7 guestrooms.
All was super cool good attention at reception, beautiful view, clean and beautiful facilities ... Only there is no restaurant or bar as in the rest of these Hostels ... Otherwise all ok ...
With a stay at Hostel Airport Oberglatt in Oberglatt, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Hallenstadion and Kart-Bahn Zurich Ruemlang. This hostel is 9.5 mi (15.4 km) from Letzigrund Stadium and 10.4 mi (16.7 km) from Bahnhofstrasse.
This smoke-free hostel offers complimentary parking nearby.
At Hostel Airport Oberglatt, enjoy a satisfying meal at the restaurant. Wrap up your day with a drink at the bar/lounge.
Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 13 guestrooms. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Bathrooms with bathtubs or showers are provided.
