The hotel is 8 mins its walk from the train station and quite close to the town area. It’s also quite close to the walking trail, which is a nice morning activity. The staff is really nice, allow me to check in before in the morning. Quite lovely stay!

The temperature in the room was much higher than in the hallway and outside. The temperature on the day I stayed was between 15-20 degrees Celsius, and it was 15 degrees at night when I went to sleep. However, by midnight, the room was still as hot as 30 degrees, much hotter than the outside during the day, making it impossible to sleep. A fan was provided, but it was very old and noisy.

A traditional and historical hotel with a perfect location in York. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Though it is an old hotel, it is not outdated at all and makes you feel good. The location is prime and there are lots of restaurants nearby and it only take a few minutes to walk to different attractions in York. The only downside is that there is a staircase in front and it will take you some energy if you bring along a large luggage.

Very lovely hotel. We love the building and the room and the outside view from our room. Love the coffee machine in our room. Everything feels luxurious. This is the only hotel that provides bedroom slippers throughout our UK trip. Room with big bathroom is nice. There is a famous restaurant inside the hotel. Lucky to get a table without reservations. Paid parking at the hotel is a bit steep. Other than that, all good.

My family and I visited York during the Easter holidays. We stayed the hotels for 3 nights and so far we were satisfied with the accommodation. The family room is quite spacious for the four of us, clean and tidy. The location is excellent and close to the river. Friendly staff as well. The only thing to be disappointing is that the two single beds are rather small for teenagers /young adults. Hope you find the information helpful.

4 St Martins Lane York has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8 people in luxury. It was built in circa 1850 and as is typical of houses of that period it's packed full of character. We have the original beautiful winding spindled staircase with oak handrail, period fireplaces in the lounge and bedrooms. The house feels 'Grand' as soon as you enter with high ceilings, ornate coving and plaster work.It has just been renovated so everything is new (except for the odd antique!) Downstairs we have the lounge/dining room with oak herringbone floor, a sumptuous velvet corner sofa and comfy leather armchair and 40" TV. The dining room has a farmhouse table and Monks bench and comfortably seats 8. This in turn leads onto the kitchen with bespoke cabinets, quartz worktops, integrated appliances including dishwasher,fridge/freezer, washing machine/dryer,large Smeg range cooker and belfast sink. The bi fold doors open to reveal a good sized courtyard with bespoke seating area and planting, ideal to relax with that morning coffee or a cheeky Prosecco! Downstairs there is also a cloakroom with toilet and sink. The first floor has 2 King size bedrooms with top quality bedding and furnishings. There is also a luxury bathroom with marble tiles and Hansgrohe Rain Shower. Walking up to the second floor there is a King size bedroom and a twin bedroom. There is also another bathroom with bath and rain shower over with marble tiles.Top, hotel quality thick fluffy towels, 100% cool crisp cotton sheets and sumptuouspocket sprung mattresses make for a great nights sleep. The location is perfect because it is so central, yet quiet. From our front door just turn left and 20 metres you are on Micklegate, one of York's most famous and interesting streets. We have a fast WiFi connection.Because we are so central, there is no parking on site, however parking can be booked for £10 a day through Louise. We have lots of ammenities in the house, board games for rainy days, a selction of books, high chair, kids toys etc. There are a huge choice of restaurants and bars within short walking distance. There is even one pub on St Martins Lane itself - The Achorne, one of York's hidden gems, a must if you like real ale. There is a Sainsburys Local supermarket around the corner (2 mins walk), Tesco Local (3 mins walk) or a M&S Food (5 mins walk). There are also a big range of takeaways very close by. Regrettably out of respect for our neighbours we cannot accept bookings from Stag and Hen parties as we are in a quiet residential part of the city.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Young children must take care on the stairs..About customRules:We cannot accept stag/hen parties or same sex groups under 30 yrs old.No smoking/vaping in the house. No outdoor shoes to be worn in thehouse..Please act respectfully. The location is very convenient, close to various attractions, and the service is also very good. It only takes 10 minutes to walk to Butcher Street, and the York Minster next to it is also very close. York is not big, the entire business district revolves around Butcher Street, and there are also many Chinese Super League in York, great 👍

Cost-effective, convenient, private, convenient parking, few hotel staff, just one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is best to arrive at the hotel before 7 pm, otherwise the door will be closed. Find the staff in charge of breakfast, you can have laundry service, 5 pounds. The nearby supermarket is very convenient and the room is spacious. The light is very good and I saw the fire cloud. The shower room is very narrow, and it is estimated that it is very inconvenient for the big man to use. Hand sanitizer hand soap and body soap are provided.

Online check in wasn't working new system issues but that was ok. Very friendly staff. 24hr reception, menu etc. breakfast prices need updating as they are £8 not £6. Light help yourself breakfast pastries toast, cereal and coffee. Nice spacious dining hall. Plenty of communal areas to sit and relax and the bar is a great place to meet and chat to people. The stairs were a challenge after a long day for me but rooms comfy. Curtains around beds give you good privacy. Trinity church over the road has lots of history and worth a visit. Regency Chinese is a great place to eat a short walk away. Close to the walls, station, city, bridges etc.. great for sight seeing. In a quiet part of the city. Loved my stay. Would stay here again. Great value.

It's really great! I knew before booking that the hotel was run by a Chinese owner, but after arriving, I was able to communicate with my mother tongue about the journey. This feeling is really wonderful. The owner is still an alumnus! We arrived earlier than the check-in time and wanted to put down our luggage first, but the room was already cleaned, so we were arranged to check in early! Then the owner was very patient to draw a map and recommend tourist spots and restaurants. After checking in, I found that although this hotel is not a traditional luxury hotel, I can feel the intention of the operator. For example, the noise reduction and sound insulation of the entire hotel are very good, just like the iron frame stairs at the back door, which is very considerately covered with plastic mats to greatly reduce the noise of the iron stairs. There is basically no creaking sound of the traditional British house floor when walking in the room, so there is no need to worry about affecting the guests downstairs. I especially recommend everyone to book breakfast! See the photos for details! It's really very rich! In addition, it is also very convenient to travel! There is a small path from the train station parking lot that can pass through the hotel. It takes 5-6 minutes to walk quickly without luggage. It takes about 8-10 minutes to drag large luggage. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you directly to the cathedral. I hope I can return to York and stay here again if I have the chance.

It was a good stay. The hotel did run out of hand wash and shower gel in the room. Upon asking for a refill I was told they ran out of hand wash but brought in 2 tiny shower gel tubes instead. The card on the bed was dirty and had blotted stains of what I think was food. Should have changed it as it was placed on the bed. The hotel itself is very beautiful though and we didn't have any other issues there.

Good location (turning corner is the cathedral) but it is a hotel attached to the restaurant, so I waited for a long time when I checked in. No one at the counter rang. No one waited for more than 10 minutes. Others were waiting. There was no elevator. I helped to get it up (4th floor) Check out and wait for no one to hang down by themselves. It took a long time for someone to check out. Living in the attic is a bit cold. The quilt is not warm enough. The spare parts are good.

Check in after 3 pm, the front desk did not even have a personal shadow, to call the landlord, and later other guests who lived in it opened the door for us. The bathroom bathing table is not a mixing valve, the hot and cold faucet is separated, the distance is far, the water in winter, while cold, while burning, heating is supplied in time, not all day. Breakfast is hard to say, I want to change the bacon (salty and dry, unpalatable to death) to a sausage, the answer is NO, every table seems to be in the mood to order, there is no toast on the menu, the table next door, our table is not on, I asked the next table is ordered separately, they said no, anyway, it is on. The deposit in the room was deducted directly without telling it. I thought the card was stolen and the credit card was frozen urgently. In short, it was a very bad experience. Not easy to bad reviews, but the experience is really bad.
